What are you wearing to vote?

I feel I ought to spruce myself up a little today to celebrate exercising my democratic right (regardless of the likely result).

So, I am wearing a black and white striped tee, a cropped cream cardigan with pearls sewn on to look like a necklace (Tory girl?), black straight legged jeans and a navy blue leather bomber jacket (urban Labour luvvie?), and probably some sort of big scarf (Green earth mother?). At the moment I am wearing BA longhaul flight socks, but I'll find something more appropriate...

Anyone else dressing for the occasion?

I've been to vote down the local pub, but I wore my work clothes.

Never seen the pub so busy full of genteel OAP's.

BallpointPen · 06/05/2010 17:11

I've got on black leggings, a burgundy vest and cardy in one and bright pink birkies. I haven't voted yet, should I go and change, am I too under dressed?

CybilLiberty · 06/05/2010 17:11

The old folks love to vote don't they!

voteanythingbutBNPplease · 06/05/2010 17:11

normal stuff - jeans, black top, trainers.

But all the lib dem volunteers seem to have been given semi-regulation pale yellow jumpers - not really a very good look for middle aged/ retired men IMO!
...or they have all independently thought "I know I'll wear my lovely yellow jumper today.."

CybilLiberty · 06/05/2010 17:12

ballpoint, I would change if I were you.

This day might not come again for a VERY long time.

Wordsonascreen · 06/05/2010 17:14

Ahem

Birkies and socks?

Really?

[thud]

CybilLiberty · 06/05/2010 17:18

lol

BallpointPen · 06/05/2010 17:18

OK, I think I'll go for blue jeans, a red top and yellow shoes just to fox them all down at the community centre.

wastingaway · 06/05/2010 17:18

Wordsonascreen, of course, it's a bit chilly out.

vintage · 06/05/2010 17:36

oh yes and Dark Blue jeans

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 06/05/2010 18:06

White linen trousers, black long sleeved scoop necked top (long in body also), green patent court wedges with a bow, green and silver bracelet, black cord and green glass long necklace.

How very neutral I was by complete accident!

I liked gracedents tweet today that she was going to go in a chanel suit and kiss babies outside and shake hands with people whilst thanking them for their support

helyg · 06/05/2010 18:12

Actually I was really wearing:

Green tunic top
Dark blue jeans
Black long cardi
Long chunky necklace
Spotty Wellies (it was raining)
Very big umbrella

i was wearing a bright blue and grey Fat Face dress with an acid yellow long sleeved top underneath and grey leggings and boots, the Lub Dem and Tory candidates were sitting at the door of polling station and their faces lit up! (they would have been disappointed!)

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/05/2010 18:21

Lib Dem of course not Lub Dem
