they are very practical and everything but I would like something that is big enough to take a bottle of water, snacks and a blanket type thing without looking like I am going hiking.

DO you want it to be a backpack or over the shoulder long strap? What's your budget?

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 05/05/2010 20:15

backpack would be preferable just for practicalities but could cope with a record bag type shape.

no more than £100 pref less.

I'm interested so will watch this to see what good ideas are put forward...

My own suggestion is a rucksack by Quiksilver or Billabong, surfy style. Look in Two Seasons or Parkinsons.

pliage or rucksack? I've a pink "isabella" rucksack by someone or other.

I've got a Fjall Raven Kanken rucksack in a lovely purple colour. They come in loads of different colours and sizes. I got a Classic one, which was about £40, but I think it might be too small for your requirements, tho I did shove a fold up blanket and some snacks for 3 in it the other day. how about this one

thanks for suggestions so far.... keep them coming!!

I love my bright red shoulder bag from Fat Face. Easy to spot, has useful pockets, can be made bigger/smaller with the side pully-in-things and the strap is adustable and fits great over the pushchair (as well as under in the small basket when not over stuffed) and over supermarket trolleys and over my shoulder, or across body. tis also shower proof - not sure rain proof though.

Oooh what a good thread, those Kanken's look great.

At the moment I have my buggy to sling everything on so don't have to be too organised but, as ds is now 2, I definitely need to start looking for something like these for my post-buggy days.

specialsmasher · 05/05/2010 21:26

I love those Kanken ones - I wish I could justify getting one! My work bag far too serviceable though - darn it.

My friend has a Desigual rucksack but I can't find a link. But here's a Desigual tote to give you an idea... they are lovely items but v casual

Another friend had a glossy red patent one (which she uses as a changing bag) which she got from M&S - it looks v v smart and I think it was reasonably priced.

ooooo Sweedes I never thought of looking at changing bags... perhaps that is the way I should be going.. lots of pockets and stuff!!
