Where can I buy cheap croc-style kids shoes?

Just want something cheap for the garden for 3 and 6 year old boys.

On-line, national stores, or Brighton'ish area please. Would rather not mess around bidding on ebay... and can't find cheap buy-it-now ones.

Anyone? TIA.

sportsdirect.com had real crocs for a fiver recently.

ChippyMinton · 04/05/2010 14:10

here Some others £10/15 too.

HappyMrsChicken · 04/05/2010 14:11

Sainsburys have 2 for £8 or £6 each. Some rather disgusting red and blue swirly Thomas ones, (which my age 3 DS loves), and some green camoflauge ones for boys.

I hate to use the 'P' word, but I got dd4 some in Primark for £3. they're actually quite sweet - pink with little sort of 'things' on - girly crowns and stuff.

Thromdimbulator · 04/05/2010 14:17

Ah okay, have found some red ones for £10, thanks. Nothing in little sizes though. Need a childs' 8 or 9.

Any other ideas? Happy with imitation ones.

Surprised they've had to reduce the men's pastel-pink sheepskin lined Croc. Thought they'd have gone like hot-cakes.

DS (8) has the £10 celery ones. Add some jibbitz and they don't look girly.

Thromdimbulator · 04/05/2010 14:22

Thanks MrsChicken , Sainsburys sounds a good option... although goodness knows where are nearest one with a clothing range is. Don't really care what they look like, just need to be CHEAP! They are not intended to see life beyond the back garden - on that basis, wonder if the boys' would mind Primark pink? Suncream Did you happen to notice whether they had any boys' ones?

Our local Lidl is selling them today: £4/pair, I think.

Thromdimbulator · 04/05/2010 14:24

Oooh... the word Jibbitz! It's just not right.

i wouldn't get them at all personally. google crocs lawsuits. not good

Thromdimbulator · 04/05/2010 14:32

thisisyesterday Have done... not sure if I should be worried about being mutilated on an escalaltor (which our small back garden is free of), or am I going to be taken to court or soliciting imitations? I just want some cheap SWMNBNs (Shoes who must not be named), because they are quick to put on and take off, and might, just might save my living room carpet.

Thromdimbulator, have just been on the Sainsbury's website and there are no stores anywhere near Brighton that do kidswear. I got mine in Horsham.

thisisyesterday · 04/05/2010 14:35

it was the escalators i was worried about! saw a kid got stuck on one the other day wearing the bloody things (thankfully pulled his foot out of the shoe quickly)

i dunno, if your kids are anything like mine they'll become so attached to them they'll want to wear them constantly and thus the escalator risk!!!

NoahAndTheWhale · 04/05/2010 14:35

I got DS some for £3 in Peacocks recently.

cyanarasamba · 04/05/2010 14:36

Got mine in Poundland. Guess how much?

ahedgehogis · 04/05/2010 14:37

crawley store does kidswear

NorbertDentressangle · 04/05/2010 14:39

Shoezone (the cheapy High St shoe shop) have boys ones in dark blue for £4 or £5, can't remember which.

DS loves his as there's no faffing around with velcro or laces when he's in and out of the garden and on/off the trampoline

Thromdimbulator · 04/05/2010 14:41

How very scary - poor kid. My 'No plastic shoes out the house' rule will be strictly enforced. But you're right, the uglier I find them, the more they'll like them.

Believe me, imitation Crocs are positively beautiful compared to some of the monstrosities I saw in Shoezone .

suncreamandagoodbook · 04/05/2010 18:22

Yes, they have boys in P...Pr...Pri....No, I just can't say it...

whoopstheregoesmymerkin · 04/05/2010 18:24
