Please help me find a nice maxi dress that is long

I love maxi dresses, especially the really gathered ones. I can't find a nice one that is long enough though. I am 5ft 11 and want one that reaches the floor.

I would love one for my holiday and dont really want a long straight one, more of a flowy one ifkwim! Have any of you found any really long ones?

oh my god, i just bought the most gorgeous one in animal, i'll see if i can link, it does go to the floor, but i am 5'8, but depends on ur size, i tried on the 12 and the 14, the 12 just reached the floor, the 14 pooled

well i bought in store so you could go try on instead of buying online, i also looked in newlook - all horrible and short, next - urgh but online has a better selection i believe, topshop - no, republic erm no

Long Tall Sally has nice, long skirts. I am 5'8" but have a 35" inseam, so I like their maxi skirts for that real maxi feel

shorties never seem to know how much tall girls want a LONG swishy skirt, and that hitting at the top of the ankle is just not the same

I also found one for a steal at New Look (I think) a few years back that I bought on the spot for its sufficient length, but it is so thin and see-through it's only suitable on the beach as a coverup!

oh, I agree. I suspect LTS has been trying to re-brand the last few years to seem a bit younger/trendier. They haven't done a great job, as the trendy stuff still feels a bit frumpy, iykwim, but I like them for really basic stuff. I own several of their maxi-length skirts and practically live in them in the summer. (sandals + maxi skirt + vest + chunky jewelry = my perfect outfit )

My only real complaint with them is that their sizes seem to run a bit big.

No there don't seem to be any nice maxi skirts - I love them and want one.

I've got several from there, usually on clearance for a tenner or so, so it may be worth keeping an eye on.

Doesn't help you for your holiday though, and I know the high street is usually really crap at making stuff long enough for tall ladies.

Perhaps you could look aound the high street for a flowy, maxi dress that is stretchy and gathered and meant to be strapless, then wear it around your waist as a skirt

I have been known to do that more than once to get a nice long skirt!

i will keep an eye out - am also looking at New Look, Dotty P's, Top Shop etc - all the places that do a Tall range.
