Convince me Rigby and Peller are worth the cost.

I have reasonably easy boobs to fit-somewhere around a 32C. Feel extravagent buying £20 from M&S!

However, I am dreaming of being fitted in R&P- they might even re-measure me ( yes, I know they just LOOK) as my back only measures 29.

But is it worth spending £50+ on a bra as a treat, or are you wasting your money if you can get a bra from M&S?

If you can afford it and will take care of the bra, why not?

I got my wedding basque and knickers from there and while I thought it was expensive at the time, I don't now.

I am intending to get Rigby and Pellered once i have done with breastfeeding my ds. he is 21 months so i had thought this would have occurred by now. Am looking forward to it whenever it happens though!!

purplepeony · 02/05/2010 18:38

well, I can afford it but it would be an axtravagence! I would keep thinking that I could have bought a dress or even a cashmere cardi for around £60.

If you are not going to be able to enjoy the experience and the bra, then there is no point and you might as well get a dress.

i think the fit of a bra is all important.

in my little town we used to have a shop with a lady who could fit you by looking and giving you a quick feel. she was brilliant. i was totally in the wrong size, i was wearing 34A when i was a 32C!

if you go to R&P at least youll know your correct size, id splash out on one really nice set there then use your new found wisdom to go and get a load of other undies from M&S!

purplepeony · 02/05/2010 19:01

Vicar- I agree with that- I wore a 34A for years then decided to try a 34B and now wear a 32C which is better.

once you've been you won't ever go back to M&S I didn't - realised when I went there that I had always worn the wrong size previously

you won't have to always go back there but once you've been fitted properly you may tend like me to always buy non M&S bras in future

you will also be able to get bras similar to the R&P ones in other stores for less money - I would rarely pay more than £35 for a bra - there are always good discounts on some of the better brands online and in somewhere like Debenhams which very often has at least 20% off and often has 75% off sales

I'm the same as Vicar and Purple! From 34A to 32C and suddenly my whole body looked different. Went to the store on King's Road (no appointment on a Saturday). The staff were really lovely and helpful. They didn't even use a tape for measuring but each bra they suggested was spot on. Never looked back. It was so worth it. I'd rather have three bras that fit properly than 10 which don't.

Completely worth the money - went to their Westfield shop yesterday and was measured for my first maternity bra - fab service and it is amazingly comfortable. I only bought the one as it was £55 (will get the rest online) but will go again to get measured for nursing bras.

thisisyesterday · 02/05/2010 21:13

yes, it is.

BUT, please don't assume that all their bras are expensive, because they aren't. I paid £30 for each of my nursing bras from them, which while not cheap, certainly wasn't ridiculously expensive!

and they were worth every penny
