Just started Obagi

Hi I have just started my Obagi journey tonight and wondered if anyone else out there was on the system.
I am an aesthetic nurse and we have just introduced the range into our practice. So although I know about the theoretical side of it i have never tried any thing like this myself before.
I am looking forward to the lovely end result but am hesitant about the sore skin and peeling that will probably happen in the first few weeks.
Anyone have any experiences?

Hi topsi, I have used Obagi in the past. It is amazing stuff.
I didn't find my skin that sore but the peeling is difficult to deal with. I found it best to keep moisturising, no make-up and hide as often as possible
It really doesn't last that long though in the scheme of things and is totally worth it. Been meaning to get some more actually as am getting married later this year and want lovely glowy skin but can't afford a consult at the moment to get it prescribed.

What is obagi?

topsi · 02/05/2010 20:16

I am near High Wycombe, not sure if that is near to you or not.
Obagi is a range of prescription skin treatments for acne, rejuvination, pigmentation etc. You end up with baby soft new skin but have to go through a period of red and flaking skin.
Puppy, I am finding the creams pretty yucky, they seem so thick and don't absorb easily, did you feel the same?

Yes I did and when I went through my second course I just used the Tretinoin Cream and it worked great. However, I don't have any probs with me skin (ie. no scarring, pigmentation etc) I was just using it for the renewed skin look.

It's just the tretinoin I want to buy again, can I get that from you topsi?

You can do puppy, we will need to CAM each other but neither of us is set up to do that.

You don't have to dive in head first. It depends on the level of peeling/temporary inflammation you're comfortable with. If you are worried about that, your doctor should be able to give you a slower regime that builds up over time. That's what I did. Results are the same, it just takes longer.
