Is shoe size 3 "unusual"?

I don't remember having this problem before, but recently, whenever i decide to buy a pair of shoes (which is not that often...), I'm finding it difficult to get hold of size 3...

I've found a nice pair of Clarks clogs, and shop assistant said they do make them in size three, but the three shops i went to didn't have them, they where unable to order them for me, and on Clarks website size 3 isn't even listed as an option, they start from 4.

It is just Clarks. They only do some styles starting at 3 - it is incredibly annoying and I always end up disappointed when I go there.

Magaly · 29/04/2010 14:20

yes it is. I'm only five foot one and a half and I'm size five (38).

Marion Keyes was apparently told that "there's not much demand for size 3 shoes" and she replied. "I demand size 3 shoes"

queenclarion · 29/04/2010 14:20

Not necessarily "unusual" but perhaps not the best selling size. I have the opposite problem (size 8.5 /9) and most shoes aren't made in those sizes.

I think the people who buy the most shoes have average sized feet.

Can you buy children's sizes?

Magaly · 29/04/2010 14:22

yes, some teenage ranges from next or try skechers and fly and those kind of shoes on line.

SIZE 3 CLOGS

Are these anything like the clarks ones you like?

CleverCircusFlea · 29/04/2010 14:25

queenclarion - that is the advantage of having small feet, I can buy children's trainers, which are cheaper than adult ones, but look exactly the same

So it seems that the shop assistant just lied to me about the clogs being available in 3...

yeah those are much nicer than the orthies I linked too

traceybath · 29/04/2010 14:33

I'm a 35 so a scant size 3 and it is hard finding shoes in that size.

But depending on budget - new look, m&s, next all stock a small 3.

Swedish Hasbeens do clogs in a 35 upwards but they're £££.

CleverCircusFlea · 29/04/2010 14:41

Hmm, i have an afternoon off, maybe i should go shoe shopping, clogs are supposed to be "in" at the moment, right? So other shops will have something similar, yes?
I want them!

I have difficulty too. ime a clarks 3 is more like a 3.5 Im a size 2.5 and have a nightmare finding shoes that dont look like they are for 12yo's

agedknees · 30/04/2010 17:39

I am a size 3, and I find Clarks often start their shoes on a size 4.

And don't you just hate M&S putting size 3 on the top shelf and size 8 on the bottom.

Wheres the sense in that???

pompe · 28/05/2010 00:18

Try this web site for size 3 clogs.

wukter · 28/05/2010 00:21

I think it's great, there are alway size 3's left in the sales.

Lol to Marian Keyes.

jamaisjedors · 28/05/2010 09:54

I am a size 3-3.5 (35 or 36 in European sizes).

I agree that it's great in the sales, although I had a similar experience to the OP in Clarks here.

They basically said they only got in a couple of pairs in a 35/36 and I needed to come in at the start of the season (so buy sandals in March! to get any in my size.)

basildonbond · 28/05/2010 22:40

dd (who's only 7) has the opposite problem - she's already size 2.5 and none of the pretty, little-girly shoes she wants come in her size
