I want to see the flat flipflop/sandles fromt he front

LynetteScavo · 30/04/2010 18:16

I'm trying to think of a word other than fugly or hideous, as I see they have already been used, but I can't because they are just fugly and hideous!

Ronaldinhio · 30/04/2010 18:23

ladies in comfortable shoes...?

Ledodgy · 30/04/2010 18:25

I can't decide if I like them or not. I think I like their Bjork type of quirkiness.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 30/04/2010 18:28

I love them which means they must most definitely be un fashinable

mazzystartled · 30/04/2010 18:28

they have got that slightly orthopaedic look about them that means they could go either way between deeply funky or proundly frumpy.

it all depends on the way you wear them I guess

PuppyMonkey · 30/04/2010 18:34

I used to do all the PR for Art shoes... ooh this takes me right back. This is their proper website www.the-art-company.com/art-shop/index.php?go=2

bronze · 30/04/2010 18:39

pm do you know any sites where you can see them from another angle?
I want to see the floorboard 0880 fromt he front

PuppyMonkey · 30/04/2010 18:46

I'm not sure I haven't doneany work for them for about five years! I think you can click to find stockists on that site can't you???

FranSanDisco · 30/04/2010 18:52

Looked at website and was informed by 9 yo style guru 'ugly, ugly, ugly, ditto, ditto ...'. Will be sticking to my birks, thanks.

mangoandlime · 30/04/2010 19:35

Although I think some are nice, some are a bit orthapedic Baby Spice circa 1996.

mmrsceptic · 30/04/2010 19:39

people wear those instead of throwing them in the bin? how extraordinary

NotanOtter · 30/04/2010 20:43

birks = fine but very boring and yes I love my silver ones

these - I saw the clogs on a 40 something funky - slightly scruffy but very cool woman - and they looked good enough for me to brave asking a stranger.

Thats funky!

I can see some of them are a bit but a lot are quite nice. I failed to see anything at all I liked on Birkenstock website.

Am dithering over these for summer just for mucking about in. Are they horrid or ok???????

AnnieBeansMum · 01/05/2010 08:11

Ew - they definitely scream middle aged. They're so big and clunky. Not my cup of tea personally.

diddl · 01/05/2010 11:27

Think the link is wrong-those shoes are ugly.

lucykate · 01/05/2010 12:13

no, no, no, you are all wrong, some of them are a bit iffy (as is with any range of shoes/clothes), but some are uber trendy,

trendy in a 'clogs are in this year' kind of way

love these

admittedly, best avoided unless you are a fan of showaddywaddy or bay city rollers

pretty cool, bit like camper shoes

like these as an alternative to birkenstocks

i am a freelance textile designer, i know these things

diddl · 01/05/2010 12:28

lucykate-you have linked the "iffy" ones.

PuppyMonkey-horrid imo.
The soles are awful& the sandal looks like a childs.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 01/05/2010 13:08

I like quite a few of them, shame they are a bit on the £££ side.

But then you may not want to take style advice from me - I'm one of those radicals who thinks shoes should be designed for walking around in without losing yards of skin (and getting bunions) in the process.

bronze · 01/05/2010 17:03

I'm with cider
plus I want something other than birkenstocks as birkies seemed to have been designed so only a certain shape foot will fit into the sole. I don't have pointy toes as I never wear heels so my feet don't fit. I am forever ont he look out for an equivalent hence asking about the unisex flipflop ones

SuSylvester · 01/05/2010 17:05

they are minging

HumphreyCobbler · 01/05/2010 17:07

hilarious.

I wear these and am universally laughed at by my friends.

I love them though.

As an extremely large breasted five foot two person, they make me two inches taller and balance out my figure a bit.

People have stopped me in the street to say how much they love them though. At least five or six times.

DuelingFanjo · 01/05/2010 17:08

I'm with cyb too, they look like something my granny would have worn!

sincitylover · 01/05/2010 17:16

ooh humphrey you sound like my sister!!

I liked them too - I also like the CAMPERS wedge style and heeled campers.

I need something with height but comfortableand a bit chunky because I do alot of walking on hard pavements!! And am always in a rush.

Sometimes fugly shoes are a good idea and are fashionable.

I love Birkenstocks but they are hardly asthetically pleasing.

What I do hate are ballet pumps on adults - I just think the balance is so wrong.

The current style of porn star heels also baffles me - fine to wear in the bedroom or on a night out if you don't have to walk anywhere but otherwise not good.

HumphreyCobbler · 01/05/2010 17:17

GOd yes

I look shocking in ballet pumps
like an intverted triangle
