Can I have your expert opinions on these sandals please

Let me say from the off that I put comfort ahead of style but I don't want to look too sensible. Do you like these?

I have quite wide feet and a high instep. I already have some quite nice mules/slides but I need a pair of sandals that I can drive in. I have skin that rubs and blisters very easily so I need shoes to be adjustable so that they don't move around on my feet too much.

Should I buy them?

Campers are dead comfy and worth the price as they last years.

These are prob v comfy, too, but you need the right colour of skin to get away with red sandals IMO, otherwise your feet look blueish.

Are Campers good for a wide fit? I quite like these.

I have fairly wide feet, and a high instep, and haven't had any problems with Campers.

Where are you, bran? I noticed a new Campers shop last time I was in the UK, so there might be one near you...

APassionateWoman · 28/04/2010 13:46

The original ones are really awful, OP. Don't do it.

Tocca · 28/04/2010 13:47

No, Camper aren't very wide (I am blessed with practically square feet with very high arches. I feel your pain).

these are wide fit and adjustable

so are these

and these are wide fit, but no buckles

I'm in East London AA, there is a shop that sells Camper in Greenwich which is quite nearby to me so I'll have a look there.

These are very cute too, not sure about the colour.

But Camper shop in Covent Garden and Westfield, so might be worth a try on

www.lovethoseshoes.com

you won't regret it.

diddl · 28/04/2010 13:55

I like the duo ones best so far.
I loathe sandals with ankle straps tbh.

bran · 28/04/2010 19:08

What about these from M&S. I think they're the ones I like best so far (although I still like my original pair even after being firmly told that they are not the thing ).

Yes, they are much much much nicer than op pair!

brimfull · 28/04/2010 23:04

I like those bran , although the strap across the toes may be too tight

damn that camper don't do wide fitting sandals-there are loads I like on that site

mountainmonkey · 29/04/2010 15:19

Luciemule - I have these ones and they're sooooo comfy and look quite elegant on.

womblingalong · 29/04/2010 15:42

Camper, IME (I have small, wide feet with very high insteps and painful joints)are very comfortable, and the straps are soft and well positioned to avoid rubbing. They are def worth a try on, don't buy without trying them on.

In addition, what about Ecco?, they do a sandal - boullion, on their website, also sold by Shoon, but called something else that is very pretty and comfortable. Their fit is different from most brands, and should work for wider feet. www.shoon.com/womens_shoes/dress_sandals/015192-border.htm?browse=1

There was also a nice Rockport wedge sandal available in white and blue on shoon, that could also work?

womblingalong · 29/04/2010 15:43

sorry, no good at links!

luciemule · 29/04/2010 18:18

thanks mountainmonkey - will defo buy them I think.

aarghhelp · 29/04/2010 19:15

I like these (somewhat to my surprise) and these (nice for summer but not sandals)

bran · 04/05/2010 10:07

I bought these M&S sandals and they are fab. Very comfortable, plenty of width without looking like wide shoes for hobbits. The only thing is I think I might have been better off buying in the brown mix as the pale one is a bit too close to my skin tone across the foot so it looks a bit as though I have a lumpy foot.

The only place they rub slightly is around the heel of one foot where my heel touches the raised edge of the foot bed, I might just put a stick-on cushion on the sole there.
