How do you "do" your eyebrows?

MrsMeow · 26/04/2010 16:58

I usually pluck mine, but am getting fed up of the stubble that's long enough to see, but not quite long enough to grip with the tweezers

I can't really justify paying salon prices all the while, so need something that I can do at home. I've tried waxing once, just using a cheapy Superdrug kit, but wasn't overly impressed with the end result.

Do I need a decent pair of tweezers? A more expensive waxing kit? Please help, I have a red pinch mark under my left eyebrow where I've been trying to grab the last little beggar all day!

which tweezers are you using? I use Tweezerman tweezers and they are excellent. Tweezers go blunt eventually, so it's worth investing in a decent pair, or getting them sharpened.

don't talk to me about eyebrows!!i went for a wax and tint on sat...not only did she make me look like david bloody gest...but i am clearly allergic to the dye!my poor eyebrows are sore, and itchy, and swollen...i look a right state!!

i may look into threading as a future alternative!!

Alouiseg · 26/04/2010 17:13

Threading is imo the best way. It is initially about £10 but after having it done 4 or 5 times you can pluck the odd stray and still keep a great line.

Thanks everyone

Celery I'm not sure, they didn't cost a lot if I remember correctly. I've had them a good while though, so it will probably be because they're blunt that they're rubbish! Alouiseg I saw someone threading on TV once, it looked amazing! I might look into it, see how much it costs around here.

motherbeyond oh you poor thing! I hope it wasn't because you were off out somewhere? I remember when I had mine waxed the first time, the skin around my eyebrows was pink and swollen and I had to go food shopping afterwards!

Threading threading threading threading threading

Cost me £15 for brows & tache, quicker and less painful than plucking.

Waggles fabulous eyebrows and pouts with fabulous upper lip.

agree threading - gives really sharp line - I get it done about every six weeks and tidy up in between - worth every penny and tear

MrsMeow · 27/04/2010 12:20

Thanks again am going to ask around tomorrow when I go to town, see how much threading is and invest in a new pair of tweezers!

Threading. Have a look for indian owned salons as they seem to be the experts and I pay £7 for eyebrow and upper lip.

MrsMeow · 28/04/2010 10:21

thanks fiveweeks, £7 is very reasonable!
