Help! I'm scared to go shopping and give up my maternity jeans 4 months on...

Oh dear...

I'm 22 and DS is 4 months old and i'm still wearing my maternity jeans even though they are too big and look awful. I'm scared to go shopping because i don't want to know what size i am although i guess its a size 16/18.

I have no idea what to wear now. I've got bingo wings so i know i need sleeves to cover these, my tummy is like partly set jelly with a lovely overhang but i am getting my waist back. I've got thunder thighs and my calves need toning. I'm breast feeding too and would love to wear some pretty stuff that makes me feel good in summer.

Oh, and just to make it a bit harder i dont have money really to spend on clothes so it will be stuff from ebay etc but all ideas are welcome

PLEASE!

After I had DD, I went to Matalan and bought some ordinary jeans, just in a bigger size than normal, I think they were about £10 which meant I didn't mind replacing them as they got too big as my jelly belly went down.

It's horrid to have to face up to the realities of your post-baby body, but I honestly think if you can get a few bits of "normal' clothing, it really will spur you on if you'd like to lose a bit of weight. I stuck with Primark/Matalan/Peacocks while I was going down as didn't mind if I wore things til they fell apart!

Sorry, I don't have any actual suggestions, but think jeans that fit well with some nice loose tops would work well.

WRT breastfeeding, I found it really good to have a vest top underneath another top (t-shirt, long sleeved top, etc), so I could lift up the top layer, pull down the vest top & bra & only expose the small amount of breast necessary for feeding - meaning that the wobbly tummy was hidden throughout!

Good point Springy - I found that easiest too!!

I have a 15 week old and am only just out of my mat jeans due to hideous flabby post emcs belly. have found longer shirts from primark so handy, over a vest and worn with jeans or leggings they disguise belly, hide upper arms and make discreet bf quite easy. Only a tenner a pop and "on trend" too, i have a blue and White stripey one that gets a lot of compliments (wearing it today with turned up jeans and clogs )

springy - i'm using the vest trick already otherwise trust me i wouldnt be feeding outside the house!

gnatbite - i forgot about peacocks but have just looked at their website and there's some nice stuff so ill be making a trip there i reckon

salvadory - i'll check out the longer shirts, i will give anything a go

Has anyone found any nice skirts or dresses that are bf friendly?
