Just wondering......

Yes! I had a course of 6 before my wedding - it was quite uncomfortable (don't imagine to go in for a relaxing treatment) and you look fairly red afterwards - but your skin literally feels brand new.

I wished I hadn't bothered with all the other expensive treatments/facials I'd had as this was far and away the best money I spent at the beauty salon!!

charltonchick · 21/04/2010 16:41

Have also had it a couple of times when my face is looking a bit lifeless - it's fabulous! Makes my skin glow and fades some of the dark patches I developed when I was pregnant. If I had the money I would have this done every 6 weeks or so!

darkandstormy · 21/04/2010 17:18

charltonchick that sounds interesting, regarding fading dark patches i have a few of them. How much roughly does it cost?

Alouiseg · 21/04/2010 17:20

Yup once, I had the crystal clear one and it was ok.

Sil is having a course of Diamond (far superior apparently) at The Courthouse Clinic and she is looking very glowy and lost lots of the teeny fine lines that only we notice. I may have to succumb.

blimey this makes it sounds tortuous

charltonchick · 21/04/2010 17:31

It was either £45 or £49. I have dark patches on my cheeks and it really has made a difference just having 2 treatments 6 months apart. If you've got the money you should do a course so that you go every 6 weeks or so as that's when you'll get the best results.

charltonchick · 21/04/2010 17:36

OK have just read the article on cyb's link. Rubbish!

I come out of the salon looking every so slightly pink but not so bad that I would have been embarassed to have been seen. I wasn't allowed to wear make-up for 24hrs (not really a problem if you do it on a saturday or if you're happy to be seen without make-up on) and couldn't go in the sun for 48 hours (again, not usually a problem in the UK!).

I was chatting at beauty place today and am contemplating a course-and will book it tomorrow.
I will let you know.

I'd love to do it, it isn't cheap. Any recommendations in the west midlands?

newmomma · 22/04/2010 08:48

It isn't cheap - I think I paid £275 for my course of 6.

And I hate to say it but crystal clear isn't comparable. My sister-in-law booked them (thinking they were the same as I'd had for my wedding - on my recommendation of micro-dermabrasion) and she was quite disappointed. I convinced her to make the slightly longer trip to my salon to have the same treatment I'd had and she was amazed!

The above article probably is right - as I said - you don't have it to go in and feel relaxed and pampered. Its really quite uncomfortable for the ten minutes it takes, and you do look red for the evening. But the difference it makes is astounding.

I too would have it once a month if money were no object - but sadly haven't had it since my wedding.

deaddei · 22/04/2010 09:03

I have just booked a course- £350 for 8 (one was free)
The article above is for dermabrasion, not microdermabrasion- no anasthetic or anything like that for the latter.
Will keep you posted.
