dress

I wandered round the high street today and found lots of ok things that were hugely overpriced and then I came across this dress which is perfect for my very curvy size 8 body.

It looks much more expensive than it is and I wondered if anyone had seen anything similar as all of the high street stuff is the wrong shape for me..or me for it!

If you are very curvy, and yet only a size 8 then you can wear any damn thing you please, 5 foot 1 or otherwise! It's lovely - buy it. and some killer heels.

bishboschone · 20/04/2010 12:36

ok , have bought..I wish I could wear anything I want. I have to be careful because I have a 'full' bottom and a very small waist so I can look very bottom heavy even though I have boobs. I am conscious of my bum.

Thanks tho

do you think tan wedges would work?

dress is just cotton although it looks nicer in real life

Tan wedges with a little platform would be fab! I know what you mean about bottom heavy - I'm hourglass too thoughly sadly not a size 8. Though I have recently slimmed from a 16 to an almost (if I breath in ago to the right shops 12, and I'm only just beginning to appreciate my natural shepe. Before babies I just thought I was fat but now at 44 I'm finally starting to realise that I was Betty Boop all along and I should have been less self conscious when I was younger. Now I've uncovered my inner Nigella again I intend to flaunt if for all I'm worth, before I'm too flippin' old! You are still young - love your bum and boobs!

TiggyR · 20/04/2010 17:09

I meant my natural shape. I'm sure I do appreciate natural sheep as well, but not in this context....

bishboschone · 20/04/2010 17:19

I think I am very lucky to be hourglass but these days it is very fashionable to be VERY skinny and that is never going to happen to me however much I exercise. maybe you should try that dress it is super flattering. P.s I am not that young.. 35 just diddy and look about 12!!(from a distance)

well done tiggy on your weight loss..funny about betty boop. I bought a boob tube maxi dress the other day and DH got excited , he said I looked like jessica rabbit..(hopefully from the neck down) [hmmm]

I'm not sure I could do the vertical stripes just yet - another stone off, and maybe! I've been avoiding vertical stripes for so many years I'm sort of allergic! I'm trying to retrain my brain to believe I can wear things that in the past I avoided. I'm still picking up fat-girl clothes - old habits die hard!

Ooh I was just admiring that dress on a work colleague today, I was thinking of it for an informal summer wedding with tan court shoes. Agree it looks far more expensive than it is I was shocked that DP had such good stuff though I might be tempted to dry clean- it has a lovely satiny sheen that might get lost in the wash.

bishboschone · 20/04/2010 18:51

yes I thought it was smart enough for a wedding.

Lovely - would be great with tan wedges or even bright wedges.
