Can't find a jacket to fit my broad shoulders and long arms :-(

Hi! Am have just about given up on ever finding a jacket that will fit me! I'm quite tall (5' 10") and so have long arms. Also have broad shoulders, but am a bit skinny (8-10) so if I get the jacket to fit my shoulders and arms it's too big on the body, but if I get one to fit my body size I look like a bloke in a woman's coat!

Does anyone know of a miracle shop that might sell a nice lightweight jacket for every day use that would fit me? (I'm 33, so something quite fashionable, please!)

I'm fed up of hearing myself moan!!

I am having the same problem. I am broad shouldered and long of arm too but a size 16-18 bust, 14 bottom.
And 6 feet.
Everything seems so skimpy across my back and top of arms- I've given up (but will watch with interest just in case)

deaddei - I know, it's a real pain, isn't it? I see all these lovely things and just know that they'd look awful on me, so just don't bother. Fingers crossed for some good advice!!

Collision - Thanks for the links! I love that green jacket! Might have to order and see what it's like! I know the blue on won't look good on me as Blazer style just makes me look like a man! I'm a bit too flat chested, I think!

Someone told me that these surfer-stylee brands are a bit more generous in the arm... Might have to go and have a look there, too!

Not sure if they'll have any styles you like but Next does a tall range which is longer in the body and in the sleeves. I have the same problem - stupidly long limbs and I've bought a couple of jackets which fit really well across my shoulders and have long sleeves.

Hi Popspig! Thanks for the reply! I've ordered from the Tall range in Next before, but have found the sizing really odd! Lengthwise, they are great, but they seem to think that you'll have really, err... sturdy arms and legs if you are tall, so they end up being too baggy! Not sure who is doing the sizing in these places!! But I have never tried the jackets, so I think I'll go and have a look!

I find that Frenh Connection is generally good for jackets to fit my monkey arms!!!

Ooo, thanks Trixy! Had forgotten about them! I used to live right next to a huge shopping Mall in Bristol, but am now in rural Leicestershire, so do most of my shopping on line! I miss real shops!!
