Fat Face for girls

Another reccommendation from here!! Never used them before but I need to by a present for an 8 year old who has got bored of Boden (who hasnt?) has anyone bought anything they liked? Im thinking of a hoodie, are the sizes small or large and whats the quality like? Its quite expensive but, is it worth it?

DD has only two Fat Face items (bought in sales) but both are lovely. Double-layered top (sort of a tanktop over a longsleeve top) in age 6-7 and denim skirt age 8 - she is a slightly tall and slightly chunky 6yo. She's had the skirt since she was 4, waist cinched in, and will be wearing it until it stops covering her bum at age 9 if I have my way! Both have worn really well - skirt is fading nicely, not excessively, and the top is like new, no twisting at the seams or anything. Hoodies are sized even number to odd number, if that makes sense, so age 8-9 should be a safe bet for an 8yo.

Well to be honest I have bought stuff in the past but I hate this season's garish collection - for both women and children. DD1 has a lovely purply-green skirt/t shirt/cardi set from last summer, which still fits, but there seems to be nothing like that this year. If you do find something be careful on sizes - the adult sizes seem generally huge but the children's - particularly the tops and cardigans - can be quite small.

any other shop you can recommend then? I looked at French Connection but it seems expensive for what it is. I thought Fat Face because its something that she cant get in her town. Boden is just too twee for her.
