So what do you think of their F&F couture range F&F couture range
Seems odd to have those words together, but I like the pagoda dress, jacket and harem pants but the ruffle on the dress is abit to pierrot the clown, you's need a small cup size to get away with that style I think.

no one else looked at it then?, oh well I thought it was interesting. I quite like finding something different on the high street, but it isn't always wearable

It's only available online, and I can't imagine anyone paying more than a tenner for anything made by Tescos! Why get a Tescos thing for £150 quid when you could go to Monsoon/ Jaeger/ Whistles...

samsonara · 13/04/2010 21:55

thanks grumpypants, it's the first supermarket move into high end fashion, I wonder if other's will follow. It's all limited edition, so I think owning something would be fab, but having looked at it all, nothing there is going to suit me, if I was 20 years younger maybe, but they should have more at the £40 end and not make them racer back vests if they want people to buy. I was in TKMaxx last week and they have a designer rack which had some seriously pricey stuff reduce to about £400, I though that was an odd place to sell Missoni jackets.

I don't like any of that.

And as grumpy has already said, why would you spend £150 at tesco when you could get something that will probably last twice as long elsewhere.

Whoamireally · 13/04/2010 22:22

My word. 'Tesco' and 'couture' are two words I thought I would never hear in the same sentence.

Who is the designer behind the 'couture' range?

If I walked out of the house in any of that people would just laugh at me

Nice analysis, samsonara.

I'm a bit surprised about the only on-line thing, too, because that's almost a different market, isn't it? And it's already quite crowded, at the same price level.

Thought harem pants were interesting, for eg, but if I were that interested, I would google, and I wonder if I might be able to find something nicer, similar quality/price, somewhere I "know"?

Whereas, finding them in the shop, along with the weekly shop, is perhaps different?

Interesting, though. Because surely the thing about Tesco is that they are able to take prices down, because of the units they shift, so "limited" won't be that limited - and they're a lot pricier (and more fashion-forward) than M and S's little venture in this direction?

samsonara · 13/04/2010 22:43

thanks animula, you are right to wonder about the limited range bit may not be that limited.M and S's limited range has better wearable clothes alot cheaper. I am now wondering if Tesco just wanted to get a "first" in clothing ranges, as awhile ago Asda got in with a "first" for an Asian range selling the traditional asian trousers and tops shalwar kamises and scarfs and the tops didn't look much different from tunics that alot of women would wear anyway from other places some where just sequinned and beaded to look more like Indian clothes but they sold that in the stores as well as online.
