My Big Fat Tory Wedding

I feel incentivised to go for it. But being a prudent type I'd like to limit the cost of the wedding to the cost of the first year's tax break: £150

Please help me find an outfit, plan a buffet for 12 and generally have a gorgeous day.

I don't mind 2nd hand stuff at all.

I believe the cost of the registry office ceremony is £90, so the budget for the rest is now £60.

I'm happy to have the buffet at home.

Thanks.

(I put this in politics by accident at first but I suspect everyone's hidden that topic.)

I'd wait and see if they get in first .

Possible dress if you're a size 10
The wedding dresses on there are all £49 upwards.

And for the food, it has to be Iceland .

Another possible dress
Or this one, but the more you spend on the dress, the more you're eating into your budget for cheap fizz!

Do you have DC/s? Can they pick some flowers for you to use as wedding flowers, I think that's really sweet

Do you already have some nice dresses? You don't have to wear white or buy a new dress, unless you want to. If so I'm sure you could find something lovely online- do you want it to be very wedding-y?

Agreed, you could get every person to bring drinks

I think it's important that the food is nice, if it's a buffet then have good quality nibbly bits. M&S sometimes do special offers on their big packs of party nibbles. Sainsburys too. Iceland as well. I think a rounded mix should do the trick.

And you could see if you could borrow a dress from a friend, or ask on Freecycle.

Quickly make friends with caterers. Dig big hole in ground, then shout 'STOP!' just before they fall in. When they sob 'how can I ever repay you?', genteelly mime 'canapés'.

at genteelly mime 'canapes'
