Things I want/need please. Does anybody fancy virtual shopping for me?

Must be available in a real life shop, not just online.

Must be suitable for a short arse with big norks. Thank you!

Item One - a new black cardigan / v neck / waist length / decent quality but less than 40 squid ideally.

Item Two - something to wear with a pencil skirt for work which will make me look smart but still be comfortable - and not sweat-inducing.

Item Three - comfortable shoes for work - black or grey for my teeny tiny narrow feet. Mayhap a small heel.

Item Four - a silk scarf to wear with jeans and a t-shirt.

Item Five - a jacket that can be worn for work, or casually with jeans.

Thank you to anybody who has managed to trawl through that lot and still have some energy left to reply!

Watching with interest

janeite · 07/04/2010 19:15

Don't just watch - help me!

Am scared to advise you Janeite as I think of you as very stylish (I envy your pencil skirted work wardrobe!)

Item 1
How about this. I always think M&S knitwear is quite good quality for the price.

IronRichSpinach · 07/04/2010 19:51

Item 2

Not much info to go on so could be barking up totally the wrong tree.

This any good?

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:10

Thank you - item 2: LOVE it but I need to be able to get it in store, not online. Totally the right sort of thing though.

Item 1 - shape is good but not the fabric.

I am totally not stylish - I look like Minnie Mouse most of the time, I think. Or a strange cat lady.

OP posts:
IronRichSpinach · 07/04/2010 20:18

Ah you did say not online, sorry.

Good to know I'm on the right lines.

Hm, nicer knitwear for under £40 is a tricky one though.

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:20

Is it too warm for M&S cashmere now? I could stretch to that.

OP posts:
janeite · 07/04/2010 20:22

What do you think of this?

Too bat-wingy?

OP posts:
tinierclanger · 07/04/2010 20:22

How about this for the cardi? Although slightly over budget.

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:25

Agh - link just takes me to the main page.

OP posts:
tinierclanger · 07/04/2010 20:32

Oh sorry - it's under jumpers/knit jackets short. I was looking at 'luxury style cardigan in fine silk cotton'.

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:34

Ooh that is nice. Thank you.

OP posts:
NorkilyChallenged · 07/04/2010 20:44

Not keen on the batwing one.

Esprit one is nice though.

Silk angora but not sure if the slouchiness is good

For Item 2
Linen which I avoid because I end up looking all creased but I think you can pull it off. They stock (House of Fraser and JL stock Great Plains)

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:47

The Kew cardigan is v good too. Thank you. Both of them are way better than the batwing thing.

Not sure about linen - like the shape though. I love white shirts but they generally don't suit me at all.

OP posts:
tinierclanger · 07/04/2010 20:48

Could work with pencil skirt?

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:49

Thank you but sorry, I really don't like that one.

OP posts:
NorkilyChallenged · 07/04/2010 20:56

Linen again but nice colour

Probably a bit much for work but I like the idea of it with a pencil skirt

tinierclanger · 07/04/2010 20:56

It's too prim isn't it? Am getting the vibe...
prob reject for same reason

NorkilyChallenged · 07/04/2010 20:59

I love this - you didn't mention budget so it might be too much?

Along similar lines because I think something silky looks lovely with how I imagine you

janeite · 07/04/2010 20:59

Love the purple Hobbs one but far too expensive. Not fond of the Coast one. Dislike the Kaliko one, sorry. Thanks ever so though.

OP posts:
janeite · 07/04/2010 21:01

Love both of the silky Hobbs ones - too expensive though as I'd be bound to get board marker all over them!

Not sure why you imagine me 'silky' but thank you anyway!

Nice silk scarves at Joules. Very pretty spring colours:

[www.joulesclothing.com/pages/product/uk/I_SEASHELLS_WOMENS_Accessories.html aqua]

[www.joulesclothing.com/pages/product/uk/I_MARLOW_WOMENS_Accessories.html coral]

NorkilyChallenged · 07/04/2010 21:39

I do imagine you silky Janeite!

I found this in the sale at Hobbs which isn't as good colour-wise but might be worth trying (if you can keep the board marker off it )

janeite · 07/04/2010 21:44

Link just takes me to all the sale stuff, not a particular item. But thank you again - will have a browse.

Joules scarves are too wishy washy in colour for me, I'm afraid. But thank you.

I am a winter I think. I look best in black, grey etc or deep pinks, purples, greens etc. Look hideous in creams, beige and pastels etc.

NorkilyChallenged · 07/04/2010 21:49

Oh sorry, it's called the Bernice wrap shirt. It's a grey (phew, good for your list of colours )
