Su - I have the Estee Lauder pencil in Onyx - it is the only Kohl pencil I can use.

It is excellent - non scratchy and blends so you can get a smoky eye. Every other pencil I have ever tried has been too hard (even my much loved Terry and June brand pencils are not as good as this).

Also is very good because it changes colour - if you put it on underneath purple eyeshadow for isntance it turns a glossy dark purple (I find).

Really recommend it. Only problem is keeping it out of dd's cliutches.

thanks

JeremyVile · 07/04/2010 16:20

I'm trying to find a good eyeliner that I will actually keep using.
My favouritest is a nice clinique gel but its too fiddly or I'm too impatient for the whole brush thing.
What does grey actually do for your eyes? I've never considered it as I would imagine it doesn't add much defintion? But black is too much, I want to be braver than brown and I cant keep wearing purple every sodding day.

I've only finished foundation, concealer, powder, lipgloss and mascara.
Blusher, liners, eye shadows, lipsticks - dont believe I've ever finished ny of them.

SuSylvester · 07/04/2010 16:21

i haev green eyes with a hin of brown

i rarely smudge and it lasts well

Greay is very good actually - I have a lovely gunmetal liquid eyeliner which I love.

I like purple eyeliner but also have a brilliant Teal colour liquid one (Tesco Make Up - seriously good).

I have loads of liquid eyeliners but must investigate what other colours this Estee Lasuder one comes in. I don't normally rate Estee make up tbh but this eyeliner is very good.

Think it won some poncy Sunday Times Style mag award not long back as well.

cocolepew · 07/04/2010 16:25

I've just finished a big fat Rimmel one, in brown. I have dark brown eyes and always wore grey on them when I was younger. Unfortunately now all it does is make dark circles look worse

JeremyVile · 07/04/2010 16:26

Green nd a bit brown here too.

Whats it like with no eyeshadow?

JeremyVile · 07/04/2010 16:28

I'll give it a go I think.
Have exhausted all my other liner colour options.

Have had a few shades of green, really gorgeous ones that just look muddy and dull on me.

Harrumph. I dont carry colour well.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/04/2010 16:34

Have you tried a khakai or goldy green colour? I have a goldy green liquid eyeliner and find it really flattering (have green eyes).

Have seen this raved about all over the place custom eyes as it is an eyeliner which you can use to convert all your existing eyeshadows to liquid eyeliner. Have never used it myself but looks interesting.

JeremyVile · 07/04/2010 16:36

Oooh goldy-green sounds good - wheres it from?

brimfull · 07/04/2010 16:44

have never finished an eye pencil
my laura mercier bronze one is about 1.5 inches -that's as small as I've got

I have a navy dior one that is yrs and yrs old ,tis fab but navy a weird colour to wear in the day I think

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/04/2010 16:45

It's a MAC softsparkle one in olive (iirc) but I don't think they do it any more (useful tips award).

I also have a By Terry one but it is a dark sludge green. But would not recommend this is is a bit scratchy so don't use it much.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 07/04/2010 16:47

GOML- I use CustomEyes and it's brill. And stays put forever.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/04/2010 16:48

Falafel - do they still do it? I only found a link to it on dooyoo - looked on the Virgin Vie site and it didn't appear to be there.

Plus how do you buy it? Can you buy it online? You don't have to have a godforsaken product party for it do you?

NomDePlume · 07/04/2010 16:49

I tried to copy the ST style eye make up lesson this week (it was a slow Easter) - it was bronzey make up with black kohl.

I looked like I had been punched in the face and then rubbed with clay. Not a good look.

Actually find bronzey colour looks a bit odd on me - perhaps is because so pale. Sandy gold looks very good but bronze looks awful, perhaps you need to have olivey skin.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

brimfull · 07/04/2010 16:51

has to be dark grey
is it?

you know I will go and buy now-any excuse

am due a rtip to JL makeup dept
