Another foundation Q - for ultra fair skin?

I've got incredibly fair skin and rosy cheeks. In fact, DP describes my complexion as 'blue'. The git. I currently use ancient Max Factor porcelain but have to mix it with moisturiser to prevent myself looking like a fat geisha who doesn't possess a mirror. Is anyone else similarly afflicted, and if so what do you use?use?

Sorry about that, posting from phone as DP doing something urgent with spaceships on the PC.

I use Boots No.7 mousse foundation, the palest shade. Can't be bothered to go and find exactly what colour it is, sorry. (my make up bag is in our loft bedroom!) Will try and look it up for you.

I have very very pale skin. In most brands the palest colours still look as if I have used a cheap fake tan.

Right, I'm back. I think it's ivory.

I used to use Clinique superfit foundation, again the palest colour. The colour was right but the coverage wasn't sufficient. On a bad day I have quite oily skin and can be very slightly blotchy.

Also to add that with a reasonable coverage of foundation, my rosy cheeks end up looking pale! So I use a little smudge of bourjois blusher.

bobbi brown Skin in porcelain is ace if you've got something of a pinky pallour like me. In fact it's the only product where I've not needed the palest shade

I find lots of other brands too yellowy, making even the palest colours a really bad match.

OhFuck · 04/04/2010 21:34

Ooh brill, ta. I don't wear a lot of makeup so I hate 'obvious' foundation. I also have an irrational fear of the mad painted ladies at the cosmetics counters. Thanks for the tips!

Also, don't test it on your hand, it is a completely different shade to your face colour.

Either put a tiny bit on the upper part of your cheek, then check in daylight. Or take a little pot and ask for a tiny sample. ime NO7 or Clinque would be happy to do this for you.

You can also test the consistency/coverage for your skin type as well as the actual colour.

The palest foundations I have found are by Clinique - such as Superbalanced- but both Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder do pale shades.

The new Lancome one luminessence? or something in Porcelain no. 010 (fab) for my very pale irish skin that needs foundation or I look ill. This is one of the only foundations that the colour is good match. Others have used would be chantaceille (pricey) Mac (no 15 or 20)or Max Factor real skin porcelain again.

I use Lily Lolo mineral foundation, and it's great for my v fair skin

Shaz10 · 04/04/2010 21:45

I use Max Factor Mineral something, it's a powder so you can use as much or as little as you need. It seems to work on my v pale skin/red cheeks.

I also have very pale skin. I use No.7 Intelligent Colour Foundation in Light for daytime use, when I don't want anything with really heavy coverage.

It only comes in 3 shades: Light, Medium and Dark (as it adapts to your skins natural tone) and blends in really easily.
