Where can I buy a nice bag that is not cheap and nasty but not outrageously priced either?

what kind of bag, e.g leather? material? patterned? plain? long strap? over the shoulder? two straps?

cookielove · 04/04/2010 19:54

what kind of size? hand bag just for purse and keys phone, medium sized bag, or quite large bag? bag for work? bag for every day? changing bag?

traceybath · 04/04/2010 19:55

And budget?

So many questions

Fimbow · 04/04/2010 19:57

Oh sorry, thanks Cookie. I needs to be fairly decent size to carry games consoles etc for ds, bottles of water, sort of slouchy style I think and a colour that would look good with reds, greens and cream. Was thinking silver but would prefer leather.

There is no budget but I don't want to pay Mulberry prices.

tkmaxx. if you are lucky, and after you have visited about six times, you might find something in there that is lovely. but it might not.

Bumperliciouzzzzzz · 04/04/2010 19:59

How much is 'outrageously priced'?

I just bought a bag from Nica. Although they are still what I consider expensive for a bag I had some birthday money. In fact I got mine from ebay for £35 rather than £60 but I was prepared to pay full price. I wanted something nice for my next maternity leave.

faustina · 04/04/2010 20:12

gap have some nice slouchy leather and canvas bags. I had a lovely suede one from there once

Fimbow · 04/04/2010 20:23

Cookie loving all of yours - thank you so much. Favourite is the slouchy one, may go to Oasis and see if I can see the silver one in rl.

Will also go to GAP. We have a massive TK Maxx which I agree is a bit hit or miss. I sometimes think their bags sort of fall between teenagery and granny. Some of the styles/colours are enough to make your eyes bleed. But something keeps drawing me back to rake in there!

Have looked at the Boden satchel before and am not too sure. Nica I have also seem them in John Lewis but not keen on the adornments.

Thank you for all your help ladies. Choosing a bag is worse than shoes!

I chose the Nica Dee large tote because I like a cross body bag (and you can take the beady thing off!).

Liking some of the other though, but I defo need a cross body strap.
