Jeggings - done to death I know but am I right?

So, are they meant to be like leggings but in jean material? IME leggings are supposed to come to mid-calf and not to be fitted all the way down to the ankle like drainpipe trousers!

I ask because I saw a lovely top today with matching jeggings but they looked ludicrous on me because I am a 14 on top and a 12 below, so I have norks and hips.

The jeggings fitted but why WHY would I want to emphasise the fact that like most women, my legs are better than my tummy / waist / hips. If I were Kate Moss' shape then all very well. I looked like a parsnip and I usually look OK in my jeans and tops.

Leggings, mid-calf length are so much more flattering! Is there anything one can do to remove the curse of the drainpipe look? Calf-length fitted boots perhaps? To bulk out the lower silhouette so that it doesn't taper so unforgivingly?

Oh paragraph 3 is wrong, I meant that the jeggings emphasise the shiteness of my "core" rather than focusing on my superb legs, which a nice school-run dress does

Ooh, but there are few things worse than mid-calf and bad ankles

I am also hour-glass shaped, my thighs, hips and tummy being my worst bits, legs and above the waist OK shape. I think your suggestion of boots to balance things out is a good one. And I wonder if dresses that come in at the waist (as opposed to smock-y tunic-y things) could work too. Makes me very though when I see somebody in jeggings and slouchy top...

personally i'd only ever consider long length leggings/jeggings with calf or knee-high boots.

but then i ONLY wear skinny jeans with knee-high or calf boots. i would look ridiculous in ballet pumps - that's a look that only suits the very young and 'boyish' in my opinion (think 13yr olds).

Does that mean that my jeggings and flip flops (or barefoot whenever I get the chance ) mean that I have failed the fashion test yet again?
