Hmmmm... Not knowing your style it's hard to comment. If I were 30 and a size 8 I might go for something a little more dressy but I think it'll look good on you. As would anything probably cow

squeaver · 01/04/2010 21:32

It'll make you look like you've got big hips

corkythecat · 01/04/2010 21:37

With clothes on I am passable - sans clothes I make small children cry
I aspire to a casual rock chick look but am scared I will fall into the mutton dressed as lamb bracket. The friends I will be going out with are all about 5 years younger than me and childless.

I am not keen on the dress-but as a size 8 and only 30 I think you could wear what you like and look great.

cornsilk · 01/04/2010 21:41

I like it.It would look dreadful on me though. What shoes?

Elemental · 01/04/2010 21:42

Ooh think it's lovely, esp for your casual rock chick look. Deffo not mutton dressed as lamb with your vital statistics. Is dressy and casual at the same time.

drloves8 · 01/04/2010 21:44

love it ! but be carefull with your accessories, the wrong ones will make it look cheap.

BelleDameSansMerci · 01/04/2010 21:44

You're too young for mutton! You're only 30 and it definitely works for the rock chick look. Go for it!

drloves8 · 01/04/2010 21:57

no mrs mutton can wear shoes that are Lamb ! pmsl! lol

DrNortherner · 01/04/2010 22:00

Hmm, I'm not too sure about the dress. I wouldn't wear it. Will you wear tights?

cornsilk · 01/04/2010 22:02

You willlook fab!

CurlyhairedAssassin · 01/04/2010 22:06

You wouldn't look like mutton dressed as lamb......but you might look at bit chav........sorry.

[clueless now when it comes to fashion] emoticon, so don't listen to me!

drloves8 · 01/04/2010 22:13

Curly i totally disagree , the chav look would only happen if op goes overboard with hair makeup and accessories, keep it subtle because its a "busy" dress and it will be lovely.

LetThemEatCake · 01/04/2010 22:15

funny you say casual rock chick as my first thought when i clicked on your link was "Paula Yates"

but think those shoes too spindly .. need something heavier to balance out proportions of dress ... heeled ankle boots would work, or heels with thicker bandage-age (made that up, does it make any sense?) and chunkier heels....

corkythecat · 02/04/2010 11:58

Thanks ladies, will be simple hair and emphasis on eye make up me thinks.
Know what you mean LTEC will try on a few different pairs of shoes, just like an excuse to wear my fancy shoes
