Please tell me the unwritten rules / what to expect, so I don't make an arse out of myself!!!

Just chill! Don't rush around. Straight after we arrive we usually go and have tea/coffee, teacakes etc to wind down.
Then mooch 'til lunch then mooch 'til afternoon tea then mooch 'til it's time to go home! (To mooch = to do nothing!)
Have a lovely day. I am very !

very jealous. don't see how you could make an arse out of yourself. Staff are usually very good and tell you exactly what to do and where to go and everybody's in the same boat lounging around in gowns and slippers. Enjoy!

v.jealous could just do with a day of lounging around being pampered right now.

ime it is very difficult to make an arse of yourself at these places. I have been a few times and each time has been more or less the same. Check in at reception, get told where everything is/get given a timetable of any treatments you are having then go off to changing rooms. I like to put swimming costume on first to do spa/sauna/swimming pool stuff then get changed into underwear and dressing gown/slippers for lunch/treatments. in between times, sit around drinking juice, reading or sleeping until its time to go home...

Agree with others - and really, no one even watches you - everyone is so chilled out and relaxed! However, you might want to ring reception beforehand, and just ask if they have any advice, and also, what the charges are for robes, towels etc. You can sometimes save by bringing your own...although I usually don't...it's worth a few extra pounds for a lovely clean fluffy robe and dry towels when you want them! It is a good idea to take a small waterproof bag to carry stuff around with you ie book, lotions etc...and also take some flip-flops or similar to wander around in.
Have fun!

Don't wear the key on your wrist in the sauna or it will burn you! Sit on a towel in the sauna too and don't stay in too long- better several short visits than one fainting extravaganza.
Take two swimming costumes if you have them.
If you wear glasses, expect them to steam up annoyingly.
Don't go to sleep and miss your treatment if you are having one.
If you are getting your nails painted, go swimming first not after.
Don't try and use your mobile or ipod, but do take things to read.
Have a lovely time!
