where can I find non toxic shampoo's/beauty products?

A friend has told me non toxic shampoo's conditioners and beauty products are far better for you, all these chemicals we put on ourselves can be linked to cancer, so I went looking and couldn't find anything apart from Aveda, which is expensive.

Anyone know of any supermarket brands which are good?

The main ingredients to avoid are sodium lauryl sulfate or SLS for short and Parabens

I use JASON products which I get from my local health shop. It seems steep at £8 but you do get 750ml so it lasts us 3 at least 7 or 8 months. and imho is so worth the initial £8 cost

Faith in Nature is also good and on the link is a) - you can buy online or b) - tells you where your nearest stockist is.

Waitrose have a wider selection than most if there is one near you of organic products.

and remember - always read the label, just because it says on the front 'natural' 'organic' etc doesn't mean to say the 2 key ingredients you want to avoid aren't in there.

Try Weleda ( lovely shower creams), Naked ( from Boots) Tesco do an own brand, also Halo n' Horns for kids ( Waitrose).
Agree with Furball about teh 'organic' labelling...the natural extract maybe organic , but then they often mix then with the SLS or Propylene Glycol and Formeldehyde

Tesco own brand has SLS

Faith in Nature is available in most health food shops, I prefer it to most Sls free brands I have tried, it has good variety of shampoo for different hair types.

Sounds like a kind and helpful friend, saying "that stuff'll kill you" without offering suggestions for substitutions.
