OK, so I have hair roughly mid back length. It's HORRIBLE. Very fine, thickish lank but with a kink. It's so horrible I wear it in a permanent bun at the base of my neck. i usually wear a doughnut with a hairnet but my hair's getting too long for that and I need some new ideas. Can you guys help?

Years ago I had a fab contraption which was a wire encased in black velevet with a slit in it; you sort of fed the hair though it and rolled it up then twisted the ends...perfect but I can't find anywhere that sells them now.

I've got one of these. Try sewing.craftgossip, go to the search at the bottom of the homepage and write bunmaker and sewing recipe will come up. I've not made one myself, but it looks like the kind of thing you mean.

Or google bunmaker for hair and ebay has loads of the fabric ones, in different colours.
