Not great at giving advice on this one, but my sister used an instore shopper - who really helped her with styles/colours she wouldn't have considered - top shop/debenhams and others have a stylist service - not sure what the budget is though - talking of which, I think I could do with it myself!

I have a new found appreciation of Dorothy Perkins at the grand old age of 35. I reckon they just work with the top shop team (same owners) and tweak the clothes for a womens body instead of a teenagers.

I always wear skinny jeans then nice t-shirt / sweater / smart jacket. And sheepskin boots, but we do walk everywhere and I feel the cold so they are essential . Converse in summer though.

You are aware that PJs are de rigour on the school run, non?

Leggings an' that.

It depends what type of mum you want to look like. I love my converse, boy fit jeans and layered tops. I am 27 and a relaxed casual run after the kids, climb up slides to help if they need it type mum.

Some other around school and nursery do the tunic leggings and boots/ballet pump thing but I don't really have the legs for it and they also tend to have lovely girls that don't run around

Wrong thread sorry!

I wish to be slightly older version of me when I was at college. Art student, hangs around with musicians. However I'm scared I might appear to be trying to hard.
I am 30 and whilst only one size larger than when I was 18 have dreadful case of mummy tummy and huge bosom.

In that case the whole Leggings/skinny jeans/long top thing would really work, you can hide the boobs and tum and let your little legs poke out from underneath, chunky boots will make them look slimmer then flip flops in the summer, ballet flats for in between weather.
