Under the bump maternity jeans-how low are they?

And how do they look at the looking fat no pregnant stage ?

I have a big ridge from previous sections which can make a good muffin top on it's own if I wear low cut knickers and it's not getting bigger as I expand. How will below the bump jeans sit regarding that?

bump (literally)

It depends entirely on the shape of your bump! Totally unhelpful advice, I realize, but not only your c-section ridge but where you are carrying the bump will influence how they fit. And not all under bump maternity jeans are created equal.

I tried 36,000 pairs of maternity jeans for my second pregnancy. GEnerally I find under bump things pretty comfy (I just wear normal tights and leggings, for example, under my bump and am now 39 weeks pregnant). I found Seraphine AWFUl, they wouldn't stay on my bum, and they were SO low, but my friend has my pair and thinks they're great. So it involves much trying on to see what will fit. I think there's no pair that will serve the Fat not Preg stage and the Bump stage, or at least not one that I've found. Personally, I@d wait till you have a visible bump and then try on a bunch of different pairs.

My holy grail was, without question, Citizens Of Humanity jeans from Mama La Mode, which are in between under and over bump and STAY UP. They are also hideously expensive but have been worth every penny.

Won't the muffin top eventually disappear into the bump? And until you have bump could you have belly band and regular jeans?

Am already on belly band & jeans at 10 weeks and am down to 3 pairs of trousers and on holiday in 2 weeks.

I am hoping the muffin top will get absorbed (so to speak!)

I don't remember under the bump stuff last time I was pg (9 years ago) and I never bought jeans last time cos I couldn't stand the pouch thing (and I would guess they are hot in the summer)

If budget will swing it I'd try the citizens. Lots of style and b denizens recommend and I think they're great. You're right about summer but that presumes a heat wave!! I had a good pair from gap in first pg but were shredded by the end.

You really have to try on under bump to make sure they will stay up!

Will look them up!

I'd recommend New Look. Really cheap maternity jeans - £10-£20. And they've got those adjustable elasticky things inside so you can get a better fit. I found them more comfortable than a lot of the more expensive ranges.

We actually have a New Look!
