Lovely, lovely lovely.

I would wear them with jeans.

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 10:54

Is that skinny jeans tucked in or any jeans which might be on the outside of the boots?
(Strange question i know but have zero style ideas! and doubt i could wear skinny jeans!)

ooh i have some quite similar
am wearing with purple tights, long socks and a shortish black skirt today

I also wear them with leggings, would look good with skinny jeans too

Dumbledoresgirl · 16/03/2010 10:55

Tortoise sweety, don't ask me! If you have zero style, my rating is in the negative!

But I have a thing about shoes, boots especially, and those are lovely.

Hope you get a stylish response soon.

I've got those - they are fab. Really sturdy, well made and comfortable.

What I would say is that they are quite wide in the calf (which suits me perfectly) - so if you have slim calves they might not be for you.

I wear them with leggings/jeggings and tunics. Also with tights and a knee-length A line skirt. I do wear them with straight cut jeans too and they look fine, but I think you lose a lot of the effect, and if your jeans were tightish they may not fit underneath very well.

I expect most people could wear them with skinny jeans no probs.

Size-wise, they come up quite big, and suit a wider foot I'd say.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 16/03/2010 10:57

When I say 'with straight cut jeans' I mean not tucked in.

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 11:00

Lol Dumbledoresgirl!

Cider I am wide of calf and quite wide of foot due to always wearing trainers!

Have just found the same boots on Amazon for £35! Result! Will order them later. Have to put money on my PAYG credit card 1st!

Now i will have to find some new clothes. Have never worn leggings or skinny jeans as have large thunder thighs. Also have no skirts!

If you do a Google Shopping search on them you can find them cheaper too, eg

Javari

Barratts

I think this type of chunky boot is the best for balancing out thighs and bum. Should be fine with skinnies or similar tucked in, with a top which reaches at least mid-thigh.

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 11:31

Thanks.
Have been looking online but having trouble knowing what will look ok. Think going into a shop and trying things on might be better.

i'd wear them with skiny jeans or leggings/tights and dress/tunic top

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 11:37

Fel1x Hope you ordered from one of the cheaper companies ie Amazon? can't wait to order them later.

Fel1x · 16/03/2010 14:31

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 16:16

Just ordered them and the price has dropped to £33.24 so i saved a little bit more because i couldn't order earlier.

cornsilk · 16/03/2010 16:25

nice -like fly mes boots.

MamaG · 16/03/2010 16:27

But WHY aer you ordering boots, it's nearly flip flop time!

dexter73 · 16/03/2010 16:34

I have just ordered a pair too as they are really nice and a bargain! Think it might be a while yet before the flip-flops make an appearance.

cornsilk · 16/03/2010 16:35

anyone seen any bargain flipflops?

Bumnoise · 16/03/2010 17:00

Can anyone tell me the width of these boots around the top please?

cyb · 16/03/2010 17:03

for corny, sorry hi jack vis a vis trench coats

meggymegmegs · 16/03/2010 17:17

I have ordered them too, been looking for some boots like this for ages and £33 is a bargain! Good find op

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 16/03/2010 17:42

D'ya know what, if they had them for £33 in my size I'd order a second pair for if/when these fall apart, I lurve them so much. (I paid bloody £80 in October!)

Bumnoise - running a tape measure round the outside/top edge, they are about 15 inches in a size 5.

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 16/03/2010 17:43

And they really do come up quite big - I usually take at least a five and a half to six in boots, but the fives are roomy on me.

Tortoise · 16/03/2010 17:47

These will last until next winter so i think worth getting now. Especially at this price. It will be a fair while before my feet go anywhere near flip flops too!

Glad some others have bagged a bargain too.
