I realise I'm about 6 months behind on this but wrist/armwarmer/fingerless gloves. How to wear them without looking like a stereotypical bag lady?

I bought a pair today in the sales for £4. I like wearing them and get that feeling that i'm sure DS1 gets when he wears toilet roll tubes on his forearms...kind of superhero-ish.

How do you wear them well?

I love mine. Have several pairs in manycolours. They make me feel so capable. And keep my hands warm without slipping on steering wheel, hiding mani or preventing iPhone usage.

at capable.

mine make me want to knit a matching cape then sit and drink hot chocolate.

Coincidence. I've been trying to find some knitting patterns on the internet tonight - my Mum said she'd make me some.
I've got long hands and arms and even when I do wear gloves, my wrists get cold.
Someone posted some pictures of some of mumsnet but thet were £60 .
Where did you get yours?

Mine are cashmere from M&S and I love them. Pmsl at super-hero-ish!

I think the way to avoid bag-lady is to go for soft colours and contrast textures: so soft grey wrist warmers with a leather jacket and a pashmina, or with a sleek coat and a thin scarf, is better than bright red chunky wristwarmers with huge black winter coat and green Dr Who scarf!

But I am v good at bag lady chic, however hard I try not to be, so may not be the best guide...

debenhams, jasper conran. can't see them online, but they were £4 in the store.
