Boden- not much I like this season.
White Stuff- everyone's in it.
Kew- gone right down hill recently
Toast- sorry, but don't like
Saltwater- ditto

I am not ready for CC, Alexon etc etc ( am 50s but size 10 and people think I am mid 40s.)

At the moment the only stuff I like is in Jigsaw and limited bits at that. It is also very £££S now.

I need everyday trousers, skirts and like smart casual, fairly minimalist with a "twist".

I cannot see anything I like!

Maybe I will just have to spend on Jigsaw but not buy too much?

M&S Autograph?
All Saints?
Warehouse's less frilly bits?
Mint Velvet?
Whistles?

animula · 13/03/2010 17:21

Muji - though quality can be variable.
M and S Limited Collection (to add to Janeites "Autograph")
Comptoir de Cotonniers
Gap

janeiteisFedUp · 13/03/2010 17:22

Yes to Ltd Collection in the past but it has all gone rather horribly leggings and neon lately.

animula · 13/03/2010 17:24

janeite - that is so true!

Buuut, I have just bought a great dress, (admittedly it is bright - but I did want to ease myself towards bright,) which has redeemed my faith!

janeiteisFedUp · 13/03/2010 17:28

Link?

crumpette · 13/03/2010 17:35

Zara
Gap
Whistles
Mint Velvet

animula · 13/03/2010 17:35

one.

It (really, honestly) looks nice on. Very simple and summery, and flattering around my particular problem areas (!).

But I have to admit that I had to take a very, very deep breath wrt the brightness. I tend to be a little more sepulchral than this.

purplepeony · 13/03/2010 17:36

thanks ladies- mint velvet def looks a possibility..

keep ideas coming!

Ditto other ideas too- thanks.

Gah.

this one

janeiteisFedUp · 13/03/2010 17:38

Agh - your link doesn't work.

janeiteisFedUp · 13/03/2010 17:40

Oh I have picked that up and put it down again for the last three Saturdays! The shape and fabric are lovely (and would be good on my problem areas too!) but the colour scares me (am deathly pale with a hint of sallow, so it's probably not a good one for me!). Lovely though.

animula · 13/03/2010 18:00

Janeite - It is indeed bright. I hunted everywhere for the black version ... .

Which raises the question - why no more muted choice? I think you're right - Ltd Collection is a wee bit coercive atm wrt the neons/leggings trend.

White Company

Phase Eight for knitwear
Kew
Warehouse for silk dresses
Oasis for dresses
Uttam
Inis online,for Avoca,Noa Noa,Sandwich etc
Mistral is ok
Mint velvet looks good, never bought from them yet though.

janeiteisFedUp · 13/03/2010 19:06

Yes indeedy to silk dresses from Warehouse - but they don't have many at the mo.

I have one top from Mint Velvet and have had many complements on it. I ordered a silk dress from them but then they emailed about a week later to say it was out of stock.
I tried a v nice cardigan on there today but decided it was too expensive.
