Anyone found any REALLY comfy high heels - if so, share with us!

I am on the look out for some comfy heels over 3 inches. I am always dashing out, dropping the kids to school and rushing to work. Just can't do flats as I'm a real shortie (5ft 2) and they just make me feel a little more confident.

So I'd love to hear any recommendations! Thanks!

Also, no more than £60 as on a budget.

No answer for you, I'm afraid, but watching with interest as I'm also a shortie and normally wear flats because heels are just too uncomfortable!

SilverSixpence · 12/03/2010 12:07

these are nice. They have a built in platform and quite cushiony soles so comfy! I only tried them on in the shop though.

SilverSixpence · 12/03/2010 12:09

also built in platform and v pretty

justallovertheplace · 12/03/2010 12:09

I'm of the opinion that you just shouldn't wear heels everyday really. They are bad news for your feet. But I am 5.7 so height's not really an issue for me. When I do wear them on a night out, the ones I've found in New Look have been the comfiest recently. I also have a very comfy pair of heeled boots from Next. But if you fin them uncomfortable, it's probably just that you're not used to wearing them iyswim?

CMOTdibbler · 12/03/2010 12:12

I've got some Dr Martens high heels and they are really comfortable and practical. Big chunky heel, non slip DM sole, but lush black patent Mary Jane style. I wear them for work when we are doing conferences and I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day - which is no joke when you have to wear heels

flybynight · 12/03/2010 12:35

I've got these and they are very comfy - I usually find heels v. pinchy at the toes. I can wear these for hours though.

Sadly they don't have many sizes left...here

grumpypants · 12/03/2010 12:44

shop.irregularchoice.com/shop/product/2571/?stop=true - these are above budget, but I waited a year to get them and they are soooo comfy. Actually, they may jave other styles and all their heels are really easy to walk in.

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/03/2010 12:48

New Look high heels are the comfiest I have ever tried - they have padded soles and I can wear them all the day long.

Cheap as chips as well

BessieBoots · 12/03/2010 12:50

Love those grumpypants!

slug · 12/03/2010 13:09

I love irregular choice and i'm a non-heel wearer. I have these for sitting down or not moving much occasions. They are as confortable as heels get IMHO.

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 13:29

The wider the heel, the comfier. Platforms and wedges are much comfier than stilettos. Padded soles are good, but you can buy different kinds of insoles and use them instead or as well. Strappy shoes are much more uncomfortable than court shoes or other kinds with proper coverage. An ankle strap makes it easier to relax your foot and keep your balance too (and your shoes on!), so also more comfortable.

For pain reduction and to keep your shoes lasting longer consider changing shoes after you've dropped the kids off.

googietheegg · 12/03/2010 14:08

Hush puppies do really comfy heels that are perfect for every day - lots of mary jane types in different colours and about £45 - £55

elliedodger · 12/03/2010 16:19

I have a pair of Clarks chunky heeled court shoes which are lovely and comfortable. They have lots of cushioning on the soles.

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 12/03/2010 19:15

Over budget, but Chie Mihara

Beautifully made and so very comfortable. Keep an eye out for sales, they usually drop quite dramatically and I have bought a pair for £30 before.

Also I have these very comfy, not over 3 inches though, sorry.

faustina · 12/03/2010 19:37

Echoing the comment about wedges, with a platform. Cork ones are the best because they're so light too. In the summer, if you can get away with mules, you can also slip them off really easily when you're sitting down etc.

Nine West do some brilliant cork wedges like this - they're the most comfortable shoes I have, and the heel is 4". I haven't seen them over here though, only in the States, where I bought mine

EggyAllenPoe · 12/03/2010 19:38

marks and spencers footglove ones. I have had two pairs, both for all-day wear. Still a bit uncomfy at theend of the day, but vastly better than most heels. Also, they do half sizes which realy helps get a ood fit.

very boring though.

FiveOrangePips · 12/03/2010 21:14

Like these ?
(Faustina they have Nine West cork wedges there too, £52)

I had Nine West kitten mules when I first started wearing heels they were very comfortable shoes, but not very high.

minimoonumbertwo · 12/03/2010 21:18

Another vote for New Look high heels - could wear them all day every day

FiveOrangePips · 12/03/2010 21:18

these are very plain, but good height and slight platform will make them pretty comfortable.

EvilTwins · 12/03/2010 21:22

I've got some really nice ones from M&S. I wear them for work and can happily stand/walk/stalk classrooms with them on all day. Think they have some kind of clever insole fitted which makes them more comfy - no idea what it is, but it seems to work.

Ewe · 12/03/2010 21:27

I can do a full day at work and drinks in these

FiveOrangePips · 12/03/2010 21:32

too pricey but I like the heel.

janeiteisFedUp · 12/03/2010 21:42

EvilTwins - any chance of a link to yours please? I wear ballet flats for school all the time but would love a pair of heels for days when I want to dress up a bit.

Tootiredforgodtyping · 12/03/2010 21:47

hush puppies...

janeiteisFedUp · 12/03/2010 21:48

My Dr Martin Mary Janes have started hurting, so don't get much wear now.
