Help! Baby Boots that won't come off no matter what they do!

Has anyone found any soft boots or shoes for babies (my boy is 9 mths old) other than Robeez that will stay on?! I've spent quite a bit trying to find a pair of shoes and boots that will stay on but all have come off really easily. When he sits in his car seat or high chair he pushes first one shoe off then the other with the opposite foot (hope that makes sense!!). A friend was lucky enough to find a pair of Robeez elasticated boots for her baby at an NCT nearly new sale and they've stayed on her feet no problem. Unfortunately they cost way too much for me to justify buying a pair. I bought a lovely pair of Kina lamb skin moccasin type shoes for him which have elasticated ankles, but again he just pushes them off with the opposite foot.

What are your experiences? Any tips??

Footed tights is your answer, under trousers. Or get trousers with elasticated bottoms and make sure they cover the top of the shoe.

Do you mean the soft leather elastic ankle shoes?

I scoured ebay for the cheapest "robeez"-like shoes I can find - I truly can say they are worth every penny. Just search on "Baby leather shoes". DS wore his every day for at least four months. They really do last and are so great for early walking/crawling.

eg here

They were about £15 but believe me when you get suckered into Clarks and Startrite that pales in to insignificance .

Thanks everyone - the last pair I bought were Twinkle Toes elasticated ankle boots (www.mytwinkletoeshoes.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=37&product_id=65)

They came yesterday and I've spent yesterday and today just putting them back on him and he's just spent the rest of the time knocking back off! LOL I think they're meant to be a cheap version of Robeez.

The Robeez cost nearly 30 quid!

Tootootired - did you actually buy some Robeez? Or did you buy the shoes you sent the link? (which are also Twinkle Toes)

check ebay

Robeez cost nearly £30 because they are worth it.
They are the best quality leather, they do the job, they stay on, they are washable and practical and are worth every penny.

They cost little more than a Chinese or Indian takeaway and when you calculate how much your child will wear them and break the cost down it's not a lot at all.

Robeez do a version of the thing I linked to as well, sorry I was confused. It's a coincidence they are twinkletoes too. There are lots of brands doing essentially the same thing in dozens of designs. It was 4 years ago though and I can't remember the exact brand I had.

The ankle elastic is quite tight to get on (obviously not enough to hurt!) and they really keep socks on.

Those ankle boots seem lovely but a bit OTT just for wearing around the house maybe? Depends what you want.

I have had a few pairs of inch blue & shoo shoo and they've been fab, I bought them mainly off ebay. V.similar to robeez but a lot cheaper! Last ages as well, dd nearly 6 months in her inch blues which I can sell on as well.

Although these aren't really for shoes, have you heard of "Sock-ons", they're great for keeping on socks and I haven't seen a baby kick out of them yet!

I think snuggle feet are excellent - they are the leather/elasticated ankle kind but are only £8 a pair (and very cute)

Although if not walking/cruising yet, I wouldn't bother with shoes at all.
