Have horribly fine hair - need an understanding hairdresser in London - central or Islington area

I really need to sort my hair out. It's very fine and there's not much of it. Also there a few greys. I'm going to be in London in a couple of weeks time and want to get a decent cut and colour. Can anyone recommend a hairdresser who will understand my hair type and also take my lifestyle into account by not suggesting I spend an hour each day preening!

Anyone in Central London or the Islington area preferred. Also, not looking to spend more than £150 (is this is even possible).

Hi Hana . Is there just the one Vidal Sassoon place or was there a specific branch you went to. The training school sounds interesting - do they colour too?

Charles Worthington. Call them in advance and they'll tell you about prices etc.

All their stylists are really well-trained and excellent.

My favourite haridressers are Mahogany. They are just off Regent Street and they will really look after you. Ask for Vivica to colour and make sure you tell them your budget at the time (though that should be plenty as long as colour isn't mega complex). They do also have an academy, but I don't know how you go about getting an appointment there.

The big Aveda in Covent Garden is good. See here and they do fab manicures and pedicures too

I can recommend Glass, Carthusian Street- round corner from Barbican tube. They will LISTEN.

Try Fernando, Peter or Renee.

Reasonable prices- about £60 cut.

They have a website for contact details- sorry haven't got it but you can google.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I think I will give Vidal Sassoon a try.
