I just had a colour analysis with House of Colour.
They'll tell you what colours to wear which will make you look less tired, brighten your eyes, and increase your confidence.
Yes, I'm a convert. Money well spent.

Do you drink much water? For some reason I stopped drinking so much in the last couple of months and I look similar to you. I've upped my water intake and feeling better and my skin is better too?

Other than that, only other suggestion is long childless weekend at beauty spa, any chance of that@?

Oooh you sound like me!

I think my skin gets better when I exercise. I am trying to get myself walking again. The blood pumping round my body seemed to brighten my skin within a week and my spots were lessened. I'm building up to it. The weather is changing and that is going to help a lot.

Do you have time to do a few fast walks 3 times a week? Half an hour? Fast enough that it makes you a little hot and out of breath.

Oh no, 4 diff issues at once! lol - hate when that happens. The last few months of hyperemesis have destroyed my complexion, I feel like I look really ill even though I'm actually starting to feel much better..finally..

To brighten your skin up, I think a scrub or a brightening mask used once a week can be a great start. Anything with citrus in it, or I personally love the Scrub Your Nose In It one which you can use as a mask or a scrub and only costs about a fiver. Quick fix is Clarin's Flash Balm - bit pricier but instantly gets rid of signs of exhaustion. Used to use it before work after a big night out..love it!!

Once you look less tired and your skin is a bit brighter, then you can choose between a tinted moisturiser for a bit of colour (I love the Korres ginger foundation - it's not really heavy enough to be a foundation but is a brill tinted moisturiser and has vitamins and stuff in it) or just go with a bit of subtly applied bronzer. Guaranteed to cheer you up!!

Now the weather is changing I might start walking at night again. I stick to main roads. Its a lovely time to walk as the streets begin to calm but there is still enough life around to be interesting. I would go out around 7/8pm when DP got home and fast walk for 40 mins with my ipod. It was a chore to begin with and then it became a pleasure.

I just broke the habit and need to get started again. It will brighten your skin. And mine.

I agree with previous comments re. drink loads of water. It does wonders for your skin.

Also, I find exfoliating helps (I use St Ives Apricot scrub).

I also like to use a foundation with light diffusion (think that's what it's called - little sparkly bits?). Or a bit of light tanning lotion for the face.

DramaInPyjamas · 09/03/2010 12:10

Sleep, water, exercise, and a good cleanse/tone/moisturise routine.

passionberry · 09/03/2010 12:11

Sorry, just saw that you find tanning lotion a bit greasy for your skin - me too! I don't use it very often but it's good just to make you look a bit healthier - I just use a tiny bit of Johnsons tanning body lotion mixed in with normal moisturiser!

frumpygrumpy · 09/03/2010 12:18

I'm not knocking it by any means but, just to say, I cleanse, tone and moisturise every day, good quality products and drink 2 litres of water a day.........makes no difference whatsoever to my skin

allthreerolledintoone · 09/03/2010 12:18

Ah thankyou for the replies will get a nice facial scrub and tanning lotion. Have a glass of water in my hand but will have to work on ds regards to the sleep god i look rough today

The best tanning lotion I've used is make believe fake tan and tan extender. I put some on every day after moisturiser morning and night - it doesn't make you orange or smell biscuity but gives a little bit of colour. Think its about £20 from boots but lasts for ages.

I looked like the living dead - pasty skin, greasy hair, bags under eyes, spots, lethargic - you name it! ..
A decent sleep, plenty of water, just even a few minutes exercise and the cleansing routine did the trick for me! I look so much better for it.

But everyone is different, it's just the trying to find out what's best for you - for some it's easy, some it's hard.

Sorry, double post before.

Also, just want to add that when the weather brightens up your skin will too.
