Just interested really - which shop could you really not manage without.

For me it is Next.

OP posts:

And if I was skinny AND rich- Allsaints.

FiveOrangePips · 07/03/2010 00:18

Well done Noah!!! have you been tempted?

bethjeff · 07/03/2010 00:30

well i feel left out of the yummy mummy gang

stop staring

i decided that just because im a mum doesnt mean i have to dress like one

and i hate topshop.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/03/2010 00:41

I was tempted to buy purple tights but managed to hold back

PoppityPing · 07/03/2010 12:53

bethjeff, I love stop staring, what is the sizing and quality like? Sometimes the fabric can look a bit meh, but have never seen one in rl, only on t'internet.
And where in the uk do you get them? (have been badly stung by customs before and don't like buying from abroad therefore) I know there are a couple of sites doing bits and pieces, but they never have the best ones!

vesela · 07/03/2010 20:40

Just throwing [http://www.nancydee.co.uk/retail/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=27 these Nancy Dee]] dresses out there because I came across them today and some are a similar style to stopstaring - I don't have any experience of them, though. I love the back of the Beatrice dresses.

vesela · 07/03/2010 20:42

sorry, bad link...

chicaguapa · 07/03/2010 20:43

Debenhams since I discovered the personal shopper service

Jojay · 07/03/2010 20:46

Debenhams, but mostly 'cos I work there, we get a decent staff discount and I'm too lazy to go anywhere else

Heated · 07/03/2010 20:59

At the moment DottyP, H&M, Next & stretchy Warehouse & Whitestuff as am pg.

Usually not much different - Great Plains, WhiteStuff, some untype Next, Oasis, Warehouse. When feeling flush Jigsaw & Anusha.

bethjeff · 07/03/2010 21:19

PoppityPing and Vesela...for the full range the stop staring website is a must...

But for us UK birds...

dollydagger

the fit is very on the dot i find...but im big in the boob dept so often go a size up.

material wise- i have never had a problem and they are all very well made. I have had some for 2 or 3 years that still look great even though they get worn every couple of weeks

CiderIUpAndSetIFree · 07/03/2010 21:21

Recently - Dorothy Perkins, White Stuff and the odd bit of M&S.
Aargh.

Whistles all the way at the moment. Everything is stylish, well cut and washes well. I'm mid-thirties and want to wear trendy clothes but a lot of the stuff I used to get in places like Top Shop just makes the phrase mutton dressed as lamb spring to mind now. (On me anyway). So, I wait for the 25% discount in Grazia that appears a few times a year then I go mad... love Bertie shoes too.

BikeRunSki · 07/03/2010 21:41

Howies
Boden
Fat Face
Primark

Middle class, middle aged and unimaginative!

Woolovers for knitwear.
TKMaxx when I have time to rummage.

... and sorry OP, I could happily never set foot in Next again, except DS has £30 worth of vouchers to spend there and all his clothes are too small.

ShinyAndNew · 07/03/2010 22:01

Next and Tesco, naturally. I wasn't aware there were other shops?

DebiNewberry · 07/03/2010 22:04

All over really.

I think I'd miss Gap most though.

Kayzr · 08/03/2010 08:30

New Look, Dorothy Perkins and ASOS.

I also get some stuff from H&M and Fat Face.

BusyMummy78 · 08/03/2010 09:16

Boden, GAP, Crew Clothing Co.

Used to buy loads from Next but only really jeans from there now.

For occasion wear usually Karen Millen or Coast or a local boutique for something different.

Glubs · 08/03/2010 16:30

Next, Primark and supermarkets for everyday stuff and Ebay for special occasion stuff.

I love a bargain and probably dress a bit too young for my age but I'm not going to be size 8 forever so I might as well make the most of it whilst I can.

Legacy · 08/03/2010 16:40

I'm surprised how many people include Top Shop alongside what I consider the more expensive shops like Jigsaw/ Boden/ or M&S etc.

I haven't been in a Top shop since I was about 20! Is it all for skinnt bints, or would a womanly size 12 find something to fit her?

letsblowthistacostand · 08/03/2010 16:40

Uniqlo.

Am very petite and their stuff fits nicely AND looks good on a small frame!

Legacy · 08/03/2010 16:42

skinny not skinnt!
