Hi everyone, can I really thank you all for your help in suggesting some new hair style ideas. It is such a big decision having long hair cut off but I cant tell you all how great I feel with my new do! I have put some new pics on my profile page for you all to see. The stylist was brilliant, she booked out plenty of time so she didn't have to rush and advised me to do it gradually so I was sure at each stage. She said through experience that some clients regret it if they just chop it off super short without any in between stages. She trimmed my hair up to my chin first and then asked if I was still sure, then she styled it in a sort of long fringe Rhianna type cut which I must say looked nice, but I really did want the short Victoria Beckham style for ages. Once we were both certain I wanted the super short crop she then did the final cut. She showed me some styling tips with Mousse and Wax so it does not just sit flat and shapeless. I cant tell you how great I feel, I cant stop touching it!! I went out last night and got so many positive responses which really pleased me, and no more blow drying yippee.
As you can see I don't wear much make up but I feel as its so short I need some more make up so as not to look too boyish, what do you all advise? Also as regard outfits, do you feel more skirts and dresses rather than jeans and trousers so I look more feminine? Thanks for all your advice.

Really lovely..and I would say that because mine is v similar!

I wear stud diamonds (to me!), never danglies. I wear probably the opposite of really girly clothes, Converse, vinatge leatehr rucksack, fitted t shirts etc, all that jazz..always make up, short hair looks so cool with make up...cool, neutral glossy make up, natch

Oh how I adore my short hair...I feel funky and trendy with it...and you will too! It really looks lovely.

Very nice! You look lovely

No advice as I know nothing!

Amandoh · 25/02/2010 17:34

You look gorgeous! Very Audrey Hepburn.

I do think you were brave going for the chop but it really suits you.

MissWooWoo · 25/02/2010 17:36

you look positively teenage - really lovely and wow

deaddei · 25/02/2010 19:27

God you look good. I used to have my hair like yours, but sadly at the age of 49 need a long fringe and jowl-covering sides.
I want to be 22

allaboutme · 25/02/2010 19:53

You look fantastic! Has made me want to get mine cut short too, although dont think it will work quite so well with curly hair!
I agree dresses, funky accessories and simple earrings would be perfect.

wastwinsetandpearls · 25/02/2010 19:57

You are beautiful, the hair is perfect.

duckyfuzz · 25/02/2010 20:16

it looks great! I've just had mine cut short too and have found I'm wearing more eye make up than I used to, jsut a bit of eye liner to add some definition woudl do and yes, I am wearing more feminine clothes

noddyholder · 25/02/2010 20:33

That is such a hard look to pull off but you have it down!It looks great on you and your make up looks fine You are young and don't need much I think you need little make up

PoppityPing · 25/02/2010 20:57

Well done, I want mine short again now!

I never wear much make up normally either, but wore a little more when my hair was short.
I gots lots of natural look stuff- lip stain and cheek stain from Benefit is good as you can't feel it on your lips.
Eyeliner and a slick of mascara- Blinc is a natural looking one.
Well groomed eyebrows and v good skincare for general glow (Benefit highbeam and dandelion stuff good iirc)
Dainty/funky slides to put in your hair (love the alice band ribbon btw)

I think you can dress however you feel comfortable, your hair will give it an edge anyway.
Some vintage would be fun though, and if you're feeling reeeally brave(again), you can take inspiration from what Katie wore for some super cute/fun/feminine/quirky/occasionally disastrous outfits- there are loads on there.

motherlovebone · 25/02/2010 22:01

really suits you, bet you get loads of attention!

mangoandlime · 26/02/2010 07:59

Wow, that Katie blog is interesting, beats all those 'look what I'm wearing, oh it's black trousers and a 'bright' top again' blogs hands down...She is very original!
