"Johnnie B" range for teenagers how could anyone get this so wrong? I might start a facebook group "I bet I can't find 10 teenagers who'd be seen dead in Johnnie B"

just at work
i find it gives results

TulipsInTheRain · 25/02/2010 14:38

the preppy types would like it (of whom i went to school with a fair few)

it's very american looking but not too bad tbh

traceybath · 25/02/2010 14:39

But the jeans are nice quality which is important when channeling hurley

I don't do primark.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/02/2010 14:39

Zara boys stuff is quite nice - a few things I wouldn't want ds in. Dh says the men's stuff in Zara is a bit 'estate agent'

GrimmaTheNome · 25/02/2010 14:39

Teens? Johnnie probably has the sense to have only ever met Older Children. Children like they were in books written in the 30s right up to School Cert having all sorts of jolly adventures.

Kneazle · 25/02/2010 14:40

If it doesn't have the company name on it in an obvious place, they won't wear it. Most teens around here will either wear super cheap no name stuff or very expensive with a very obvious logo. It is usually a mix of the two.

Why buy expensive with no name ?

SuSylvester · 25/02/2010 14:40

yes
mine are shody
i cant do primark either
once did accessories suceessfuly - the rest smells of poverty.

Kneazle · 25/02/2010 14:41

Personally I don't get it. Why wear Superdry on your t shirt, sounds like the make of a nappy.

traceybath · 25/02/2010 14:41

I tend to buy more expensive clothes because they're generally better quality and also hopefully little children haven't made them.

Kneazle · 25/02/2010 14:42

"the rest smells of poverty" oh my !

traceybath · 25/02/2010 14:43

Mind you I was in new look earlier and honestly it reeked of disinfectent - was quite horrid. Did buy a fab jacket though

SuSylvester · 25/02/2010 14:44

it smells VILE in tehre
and i cant make the clothes not look shit

Carrotfly · 25/02/2010 14:45

I've just got my catalog this morning and I like it, its the sort of thing DD wears atm, although admittedly her wardrobe is full of Abercrombie, JW and Hollister ...

Am hoping she might want some of this stuff and save me ££ in the meantime.

I cant do Primark either, and unfortunately neither can she.

Will report back later if she likes it.

dottyaboutstripes · 25/02/2010 14:46

I have 2 teens. They both like the stuff. Am thinking of maybe getting a couple of bits for myself as well

Primark for me? No ta - but my kids do love it so....

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/02/2010 14:47

the cheap clothes shops do reek of something - probably the dyes..Peacocks smells of it...
Isn't Superdry a Japanese beer ?

hatwoman · 25/02/2010 14:48

kneazle - in a sense that's what I was thinking...and surely any self-respecting teen whose mother bought them hotch-potch tops when they were little is going to run a mile. I think it's extremely difficult to get teens to wear the same brand they wore as toddlers

Carrotfly · 25/02/2010 14:48

I agree with SuS, it actually does have an unnerving smell in there.

Not sure if its the smell of poverty, but its certainly not nice.

Carrotfly · 25/02/2010 14:50

Actually ShoeZone smells worse.

I've never been in there but it oozes out of the front door into the mall !

castille · 25/02/2010 14:51

Traceybath - DD likes the white skinnies (she has just this minute declared) but is tall and skinny herself - are they going to be nappy-like on her?

rosieposey · 25/02/2010 14:51

It looks exactly like Jack Wills or American Apparel - stock standard middle class teen uniform i think (unless you have an emo like DD2 )

Kneazle · 25/02/2010 14:51

Superdry

Deffo for the Abercrombie and Fitch/Hollister market.

But don't teens really get the enjoyment out of going to the shops and buying themselves - I did anyway.

Can't see them sitting down to browse through the Johnie B range online.

What would they do on a Saturday if they weren't wandering round the shops .

nicolamumof3 · 25/02/2010 15:31

my ds1 still likes the checked baggies at age 10yr

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/02/2010 15:53

I agree.

DD likes going to Jack Wills and Hollister because it is (a) cool to be seen in there and (b) she can bat her eyelids at the fluffy bearded 19 year old who work there.

Not sure the same pleasure can be gained from online shopping from Boden (though you would think differently the excitement Johnny (!) engenders from certain quarters of MN.
