Recommendations please for eye liner and shadow

I would normally just go straight to the mac counter but need to economise a bit. WHere can I get a good dark brown eye liner from?
I need also to get a pale white eye shadow to go with my mac charcoal brown eye shadow. It's for under my eye brow area - you know, where people have very pale shadow that looks kind of shimmery with brown eye shadow on lids.

Bobbie brown gel liner is officially the best in the world. Probbaly not an economy on Mac but so worth it if you do the lash line on your lids. It is genius.

I think cheap eyeshadow is just as good as expensive so maybe bourjois?

You cannot get better than Mac IMO- false economy to buy cheapo eyeshadow as you have to use so much more

Rimmel liquid eyeliner is great. Small pot lasts for ages. For cheaper shadows, I have been using Max Factor alongside of my Mac shadows for about a year and I think they are as good as each other.

I dont mind spending if it's really good and worth it. Bobbie brown gel liner sounds good. I am not great at done the lash line on the lids but could do it expertly when in my teens. I'll have a look at that one.
I have a grey mac liner which I love and is very short now. I fancied a change as I wear grey liner every day.
I have a light goldy brown one in mac that I did use for under eye brows but it isnt light enough and doesnt contrast enough against the brown on my mac shadows.

I dont seem to get on well with liquid eye liner. Much prefer traditional pencil. So, max factor worth a look as well then too.

I can't do liquid eyeliner (and a make up artist once put it on me and said it was the most hideous thing ever and that if I only took one piece of advice im my life it was to NEVER but black liquid eyeliner on my lash line)

However the bobbie brown gel gives more of the smudgy sexy look.

I also like grey pencil and the no7 one is a good colour and lasts forever.
