What do you wear with red boots?

I got an amazing bargain in a charity shop today- these Dr Marten boots in red, absolutely brand new for 7 quid here
Now, I love them. But they are very red. The only thing I can think to wear them with is skinny jeans and maybe a deep purple coloured cardi to add a different colour. I am not usually one for such bright colours, so can someone inspire me?

Denim mini?

Holymoly321 · 19/02/2010 16:12

navy mini-dress?

mazzystartled · 19/02/2010 16:15

I love red shoes - have lots of pairs
Just pretend they are black and wear with anything.

ImSoNotTelling · 19/02/2010 16:20

nipple tassles

ImSoNotTelling · 19/02/2010 16:21

Ha just seen they are DMs

maybe not nipple tassles then.

Thick tights or leggings and a short skirt/dress. Is the law

justallovertheplace · 19/02/2010 16:24

OOo really? I have a denim mini I have been wearing since I lost baby weight and have been wearing it with black opaques and my trusty old boots. The new boots just seem very daring in comparison

Lol ISNT.

I have some fantastic red suede boots with tassels on that I bought from Clarks about 3 or 4 years ago and I still love them, I'm wearing them now.

I wear them with anything but I did invest in the matching handbag, some red gloves and a red scarf so I have some colour co-ordination going on. Red shoes on the bottom really brighten up any outfit.

brimfull · 19/02/2010 16:25

turquoise looks great with red
as does brown , bright pink if you are brave
purple and dark green as well
navy

Im not keen on black and red , always looks like dennis the menace

justallovertheplace · 19/02/2010 16:26

coordination is what I'm worried about pineapple. I love bags but most of mine seem to be green or battered old brown leather ones. Should I beon the hunt for a navy or red one?

purple dress & red tights & teal cardi

just so long as she wears at least 3 colours she's a happy bunny.

southeastastra · 19/02/2010 19:59

Metatron · 19/02/2010 20:25

Kevin Bacon.

BikeRunSki · 19/02/2010 20:46

I have very similar red DMs - these, which I wear with jeans, knee length grey cord skirt, knee length A line denim skirt, denim dress, brown cords, brown cord skirt. Not black, my school uniform was red and black!

BikeRunSki · 19/02/2010 20:54

.... and always with thick tights - black, teal or brown, depending on what I am wearing. Often a black jumper on top though.

PoppityPing · 20/02/2010 00:32

lovely boots!

ImSoNotTelling · 20/02/2010 09:07

Do you know I tried these boots on 4 different times over the space of about a year, and finally had to accept that they are just completely teh wrong shape for my feet

justallovertheplace · 20/02/2010 09:12

ISNT (thanks for the nipple tassle tip btw ) I am worried they make my feet look slighty boat-like. I'm going to wear them today to see if they are 'me' and if not I am going to give them to my equally big-footed friend

Well you look lovely in those boots whoever you are

lousouthend · 21/02/2010 11:07

Congratulations on such gorgeous boots I have the exact same pair. I bought them new for £27 from Amazon where they are currently £90 so you did really well. I wear them with jeans, tunic dresses and black tights etc, they are not that red really and just treat them like black boots. I get loads of compliments on them. Just a word of warning, soles are slippy in snow. x
