Jim Hjelm dresses are gorgeous and not too badly priced. They are American but lots of bridal shops here stock them.

I got some gorgeous red fabric and gave it to my bridesmaids - they had dresses made of their choice in the fabric!

tethersend · 16/02/2010 22:22

Any good?

tethersend · 16/02/2010 22:27

Or here?

LoveMachine · 16/02/2010 22:48

the coast one is interesting,

i am not sure about the sleeves,

i have 3 size 12 bridesmaids,

my dress is quite simple with no sleeves,

also want to, if i can, keep under £150 each

this?

Moneyspider · 17/02/2010 08:02

this one is perfect imho

Sorry to push the fabric thing but it is brilliant for bridesmaids - they can have a dress in any style they want so they are more likely to wear it again. Even seriously lovely silk dupioni (raw silk) is about £12.95/metre and if you are aiming for a short dress should not need more than 2.5 metres. Then it is cost of making the dress, which does vary...

It also looks great in pictures, the same colour but variation. I've also been a bridesmaid twice with this option and wear the dresses quite a lot as they really suit me.

I just wore this dress here as chief bridesmaid at my sister's wedding (10 days ago). We were 2 bridesmaids, myself and the groom's sister. She is a size 10-12 and I am 16-18 and the dress is very flattering and comfortable. Excellent value at £90 especially if you can find an online discount code like I did and got 15% off!

Good luck

TrillianAstra · 17/02/2010 17:37

Why not try this you can pick the fabric and they can pick the shape.

aznerak · 17/02/2010 17:37

Not sure why the Debenhams links are not working

Go to debenhams.com, and in the SEARCH box, type Red organza rose corsage ball gown and this will show you what I recommended

How about [http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2049/#FabricList=56&catid=1&displaytype=GridMedium&activePa ge=1&rpp=9&SortOrder=Default this one]? There are quite a few shops around that stock it and the fabric looks lovely.

gruber · 17/02/2010 17:42

this one sorry!

gruber · 17/02/2010 17:46

Or alfred angelo here?

I would say, with all of these, if you have your heart set on a particular colour, it is definitely making the trip to see the dress in a shop if at all possible. I saw so many dresses in what I thought were the right colours online, only to find they were not in real life!

Alicetheinvisible · 17/02/2010 17:48

Love that site Trills

OtterInaSkoda · 17/02/2010 17:50

Trillian got there first, but my plan (when/if we eventually get bloody married) is to have my bridesmaids design their own in the same fabric.
