I am 43 years old, with rather sensitive skin and enlarged pores on my forehead and cheeks, and I hate them! i read somewhere that micro dermabrasion can help with this, has anybody tried it,did you have more than 1 session, and is it ok for sensitive skin?

I have had it once, I too have sensitive /dry skin. Not the pore thing though.
It has different levels and my beauty thereapist said they do the gentlest setting first time and will go deeper on further visits. I would like to go back as ,even after 1 treatment I felt my skin looked better.
Something to note, you must not go in the sun for 24hrs after it and you need to moisturise extra for a couple of days.
BTW I'm 45, HTH

Over-rated ime. Had micro dermabrasion a few times and the effects were like a good facial, without the relaxation. Wimped out on a chemical peel which is meant to have longer lasting effects.

I paid £25, but you could do a course for a set price. I wanted to try it first though before I committed myself to more cost IYSWIM.

I had a course of 6 crystal clear microdermabrasion facials in the run up to my wedding in 2007 and I was impressed with the results. My skin was definitely smoother and more plumped. The pores seemed smaller too. The facials were £55 singularly, but I think I paid £300 for the course.

Recently, I wanted to have medical microdermabrasion which is a more hard core form, but an examination during a consultation ruled it out-I have some broken capillaries just beneath the skin. Although they are not visible to teh naked eye, I was told that medical microdermabrasion could aggravate them and bring them to the surface. I was gutted!

I've booked in for one next week, and its £48 for half an hour and £58 for the facial and a mask. So I'm going for the cheaper option. I hope it works...
