Foundation for freckles?

I have never needed foundation. Always had quite clear, even skin and just worn mascara and a bit of blusher.
Now I'm older my skin is not so great and really needs a cover up to look a bit better. Its a bit patchy in areas with patches of red etc so needs evening out.
BUT I have LOTS of freckles. How does freckles and foundation work? If I find a colour match for my actual skin then I will look very pale if it covers up my freckles, but any darker and I'll look like I have a much darker face than the rest of me! Plus I'll just look odd without my freckles!!
Is there any particular product that would be good for my kind of skin???

Hopefully any foundation you choose won;t be sooo think that it covers anything up too much. Foundation just evens out tone. I am quite freckly, I match my foundation to my cheek.

I;ve never even considered my frekles when buying one actually. Go to a good make up counter and see what they recommend for you, you don;t ahve to buy

Dont worry about the freckles, they really dont have any bearing on the foundation you choose.
You need a decent foundation hat lets your skin show through (inc freckles) and then any extra coverage you need should come from concealer.

Budget?

Clinique do a decent range but Chanel Vitalumiere is amazing imo and worth the money.

I agree that the Chanel one is lovely, but if you are a red-head freckly person, like me, the Chanel colours aren't great - they're yellow based, and I really need pink based.

I have about 2cm left in Chanel's lightest shade, and if you'd like me to send it to you, I can.

I'm going to go back to Vichy's tinted moisturiser. It had a nice light coverage, and the palest colour was good for me.

Is it only me that doesn't notice my freckles when I look in the mirror ?

I'm a redhead with creamy though very pale sking and found the prescriptives foundation brilliant.
