Saggy Wrinkly Tummy

I am now down to below my pre pregnancy weight after having two large dc's, however my tummy is hideous. The muscle tone isn't too bad but the skin is really baggy.

Is there anything I can do (short of a tummy tuck) or am I destined never to wear a bikini again ?

it may well sort itself out with exercise and good body creams

Watching with interest as my tummy resembles an elephant's backside these days....

me too - size 8-10 but terrible stomach! I have got a few exercise videos but not sure I believe they will work..

if the skin is stretched beyond it's elasticity you are buggered

tummy tuck or spanx and a massive motherly roar!!!

I joined a gym after my 2nd dc and the trainer there told me nothing would fix my stomach (she is childless!!!) my ds is now 4 and I have been to the gym pretty much 5 days out of 7 for the last 4 years. My stomach has recovered for the most part but I now agree with the trainer that no matter how many sit up's I do my stomach will NEVER go back to how it was!

Mines the same and after a year of religiously going to the gym with no improvement i have just had a consultation for a tummy tuck. It depends what you think is bad, mines really bad my friend thinks hers is bad but it is nothing like mine and will mostly improve with excercise. I saw a girl on embarassing bodies with a tummy like mine and knew i had no choice.

Mine is diabolical and I am size 8. However, my personal philosphy is "sod it" and I wear a bikini on my hols regardless. I am, however, intending to have tummy tuck later this year once I have found the right surgeon.

I reckon I'm buggered then. My skin well and truly stretched beyond its elasticity (10lb+ babies plus fibroids = ginormous bumps). Its vile - looks like I'm smuggling a Sharpei puppy in there.

Maybe I should just get fat and fill in the wrinkles

There's a thread from a couple of days ago (but can't find it) about TVA exercise with a youtube link to the demo video. These are the muscles that would be weak after you've had a baby. Basically, you put your finger on your tummy button and then pull your back as far as it will go and hold it. You do this increasing the time and distance you pull the muscles in. You can also do it a couple of inches below the navel and above and this should give you a lovely toned tummy with tight muscles........ but not sure if the saggy skin will completely disappear

Oliveoil · 13/02/2010 12:13

wear a bikini and sod it imo

I do and have a crepey tum

no overhang but it is wrinkled but do you know what?...NO ONE GIVES A CRAP

now if I am on the beach making sandcastles I may wear my tankini or vest as I will be bending over [the horrors] and squishing things up

Fleecy · 13/02/2010 12:21

Watching with interest. My belly button looks like a cat's bum

I'm going on a beach holiday in September for the first time since having DC and will be wearing my bikini regardless.

Sorry for hijack but hope you had a good holiday tulpe

Just to make you feel better there was a plus size underwear model on this morning on fri. Modelling valentines undies. Sure she had a wobbly ish tum after babies (or maybe weight loss) but she looked great and bet v few non mummies were looking at her wobbly bits!
