Hair Colourist in London

Can anyone recommend a good one?

I am currently a natural brunette and have a v few natural-looking caramel coloured slices put through the top every couple of months.

But now I see the odd stray grey and I don't feel ready to submit to grey hair just yet.

Charles Worthington. Carolyn if you want to pay £££££s but they're all good.

Squeaver - Thanks. But CW where in London? Aren't there several branches?

If you have the cash, Antonella at Daniel Galvin is fantastic.

Percy Street (off Tottenham Court Road) or the very swanky "House of.." which is in Covent Garden.

I think they're the only 2. Maybe there's one in the City.

Squeaver - Thanks. It looks good. I don't care how much it costs. Do you have your hair cut there as well? I'll look into Carolyn for colouring, but is there anyone particularl you recommend for cutting?

SawneyBeane - Will look into that too. Thanks for the recommendation.

Swedey, if you are in sarf London, try Willie Smart's in Clapham. Good cuts (ask for Adrian), great colour (ask Adrian to either do it or recommend) and not too expensive. Am brunette going grey too and have always been v happy there.

Baconsarnie - Thanks v much for the recommendation. I'm actually in Herts commuterbelt. But wouldn't rule Clapham out actually.

And what do people have colourwise? I'm really v keen to avoid the whole block of solid colour helmet or old lady goes slightly red in colour theme.

Perhaps I'm having a midlife crisis.

Honestly, it really all depends on your hair. I have highlights - 2 different colours (a sort of honeyish blonde and a strawberry-ish blonde) but very, very subtly done. People ALWAYS comment when I've had my colour done, asking if I've been in the sun, that's how natural they look.

Saying what you DON'T want is best I think e,g. stripes = no, no (but a good clourist won't let that happen).

I really think hair colouring is one of the few things where you really get what you pay for.

The best thing to do is to go into a few places and have a consultation.

If they are a reputable place and really know what they are doing, they will happily talk you through your options.
