I have 2 children and my mum loves buying clothes for them, which is great but she always tends to buy from supermarket matalan type shops.
These clothes are fine for playgroup but most are quite shapeless and cheap looking.
I want to get them some nice clothes sutible for going out plus some nice casual bits for when I want them to look smarter/nice when even just going shopping.
They grow so quick I so I was looking at used clothes on ebay. Which brands should I look at I want good quality nice clothes.

Gymboree lovely quality and age appropriate; likewise Mini Boden, Pumpkin Patch and some Gap. Mini Mode (Boots range)also has some good stuff for the younger child

I get lots of decent quality Next stuff from ebay,

Some Gap stuff I bought for my dd when she was a baby/toddler is still being worn by friends children - and have been worn by her two brothers in between.

So Gap would be my recommendation.

I buy second hand clothes from charity shops/car boot sales. I tend to run my hand along the rails and pull out the clothes that feel, well, nice. These are often gap/boden/M&S, but sometimes surprise me by being primark or tescos. If they've obviously been washed a few times, but still look thick, and hold their shape I know that they're good to buy. I don't buy from ebay because I'd miss this hands-on test (I'm also a technophobe, but that's a different story).

Well, OsbegaEthewulf just said everything i was going to suggest! Osbe. i agree totally. Molly and Jack are also a range sometimes sold with mini mode, which is very nice too.

my top picks are Frugi, Gap, Old Navy, Osh Kosh (for dungarees), some Boden and Joules.

woven stuff (shirts, dresses, jeans, canvas or cord trous) always seems to wear better than jersey / knitted stuff eg tshirts, sweatshirts, tracksuit bottoms.

the other thing to do is look for 'smarter' stuff that has obv been bought and worn for one party so has lots of wear left in - put them with more casual tops / bottoms for nursery - Monsoon is good for this.
