Ooh, we need more info.

You - height, size, general shape
Your lifestyle - day to day including work? small children? lots of outdoors? whatever.

What is your tight budget exactly? And does it need to include footwear and/or coat?

justallovertheplace · 03/02/2010 19:44

For me, it's skinny jeans with boots, white t shirt and boyfriend cardigan.
If you're on a tight budget, the things I'd invest in are a decent pair of boots, and a good coat. I have been wearing my red berghaus raincoat for the last few days and it makes me feel drab. I have several well cut wool coats and cord blazers that I feel much more pulled together in.
Ditto accessories. Nice big chunky necklace can make just a plainish outfit look instantly more glam.

LaurieFairyCake · 03/02/2010 19:46

Duo boots have an enormous sale so start there

boots Perhaps the Caramel Bern ones?

a nice jersey frock in Navy that will take you through Spring I'm wearing this now

and a lovely navy, very thin and light cardigan in navy

I am comfortable, warm and look great. And stay away from black - it is no friend to you in this weather.

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 19:53

Right details....am short arse , but small all over 8-10 is normally about right and nothing special in the breast department either lol

3 little ones, but I'm not one for long walks on the moor etc and am normally always in heels.

As you were keep em coming

What sort of body shape? Curvy, apple, pear (sorry to use same old descriptions, but they do work). Anything you'd particularly like to hide/emphasise?

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:04

I don't know quite what you'd call my shape as I've said am short and petite with it, although I used to have a tiny waist 3 kids later its not so tiny but still smaller than hips - not hard tho!

OP posts:
totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:05

hourglass?

NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:11

Wow, you sound like you could wear anything tbh!

Esp if you are usually to be found in heels. With 3 children. Am impressed (am currently sitting my pjs at 8pm ).

Are you a jeans person?

Probably an easy everyday outfit would be jeans as Justallovertheplace said. But that is a bit boring and I'm not a jeans person myself.

Leggings and dresses? Easy, comfy but stylish? Won't work with heels though Well, actually scrap that - I wouldn't do heels with leggings (mainly cos I cannot walk in heels) but actually lots of people do!

NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:12

Budget? including shoes/boots and coat? This is important as otherwise we'd start with footwear probably and build from there.

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:19

Right have uploaded the only picture I can find of all of me an very very as it was a silly posey picture and will be removed later tonight lol!

Budget doesnt need to include shoes or coat and under £100 for everything ta!

Oh also have very long reddish hair now

Clure · 03/02/2010 20:21

justallovertheplace · 03/02/2010 20:22

Ooo you are a Devon girl! Me too. I'll take you shopping
What kind of style are you after though? I think you'd look awesome in some vintage pieces

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:26

That would probably be a good idea! I tend to get side tracked by kids clothes on my own lol Am after any style to be honest, lost my way after the kids am now finding my inner fashionista hehehe

Oh and clure loving that butterfly t shirt!

justallovertheplace · 03/02/2010 20:29

Are you anywhere near Exeter? If you can get to the Real McCoy, I suggest you do. I bet you could find some dresses that would look great on you. Or, strangely, Primark. They have some great tea dresses in atm

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:32

Used to be moved a few months ago and I've loved real mccoy since I was tiny, I remember thinking it was magical in there

Primark is my mecca atm is a big one here right near starbucks conviently enough!

OP posts:
justallovertheplace · 03/02/2010 20:34

Ah, then I'm on to where you live
You have a very teeeny waist. I'd pop into Primark and get some of their cheapo waist belts to emphasise that. I've been wearing a black one I got there for 3 quid with a red floral teadress. And with the change, get a massive chocolate muffin

StellaLovesPotato · 03/02/2010 20:36

You look like that after 3 kids???

NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:39

Totalmadness, I knew it, you're lovely and could wear anything.

Short skirt, opaques? Have you got a denim mini?

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:42

I do have a denim mini, however it needs replacing as both of the buttons have fallen off, one by dh and one by the washing machine!

OP posts:
NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:43

What about this? Maybe not ideal in this weather but with skinnies/jeggings/leggings and a long sleeve top under?

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:48

How come I've never been onto that website before!!! Thank you norkilychallenged

justallovertheplace - i thought it was a fairly obvious clue if you know where it is

OP posts:
NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:49

Denim mini, not sure what kind of style you like so here are some options:

Can't argue with the price!

New Look

Esprit have a good selection of different colours/styles my links to Esprit don't normally work though

NorkilyChallenged · 03/02/2010 20:52

I love Republic, Totalmadness, it's a bit young for me though. Think there are quite a few thing there that would really suit you.

Their jeggings were getting high praise from some students in there last time I was in the shop!

totalmadness · 03/02/2010 20:55

oooh im liking the skirts, very similar to the one with no buttons lol
