I don't have a dress and am a short arse - will knee length be ok?

Can I just get something from monsoon or do I need to make more effort?

Legs are okay but I need to wear stockings as varicose vein is vile.

I like the big shoulders thing but it doesn't look right because I am small and I look like an aircraft that may take off if someone opens a window.

Mind you, Victoria Beckham is considerably smaller and she looks okay, wonder what I am doing wrong there then?

Went to a masons' ladies night thing - all the old gals were seriously glitzed up - think 'dinner at the captain's table' cruise-wear stylee.
Blowdry and full slap, sequins, gold sandals etc.

Oh yes, and everyone posed for a photo on the way in.

Black Coast frock would hit the spot.

Well I am a 'coral' fan so will certainly try the monsoon dress.

I do love to do black though with jewellery and super heels.

Would animal skin or S&M stylee heelage be inappropriate d'you think if they are all going to be in pop sox and gold mid heel sandals?

If its ladies evening then cocktail will be fine- however if its 'your' ladies evening night then I'd go really posh. It was my mums a couple of years ago and it was quite posh

I need to inject some quirkiness somehow. I will be a bore all night if I look like one. How does one do this whilst being sensible and demure?

I have just been reading about this thing and am realising that it is going to be potentially very odd and that I may need to dress appropriately for three whole days.

So, can I add weekend wear on a budget to my styling help list please?

Have a look at the LK Bennet 'tuna' dress in plum or black (sorry can't link directly as I'm on an itouch.

I tried it on and it was supremely flattering to my shape (curvy 12 with 32ffs), but they didn't have my size in the colour I wanted.

Then a woman at the do I was going to was wearing it in black, and it was gorgeous on her as well.
It has a similar drapey, ruched look that the oasis one has (also gorgeous), but the neckline may be more flattering to the large of boob.

(This woman was a 14/16 hourglass shape I'd say, and she looked totally luscious.)

I did think it was pricey for polyester, but that LK Bennet for you.
