I still manage to look at bit slaggy in White Stuff clothes. I am the Bett Lynch of White Stuff.

HelloThisIsJoanie · 30/01/2010 16:41

lol
you see " looking slaggy" is ok when you are a gilded dewy 17 year old as is obv ironic
when you are 39 you look like you are a MEthod actor in prep for a role as a lady of the night

White Stuff never fits properly - it's baggy in weird places - and falls to bits.

Very disappointing.

Slaggy cos tops all low cut for maximum lacy vest revealing.

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2010 16:43

I am I yes, but not been on it for ages.

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2010 16:44

Fits me properly, maybe you're a weird shape. Or maybe I am

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 16:46

I think my tits aren't big enough for White Stuff. Lacy bit of vests fold disappointingly over where cleavage should be.

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2010 16:48

I have no tits, but I do have a magnificent collarbone, which counts for a lot.

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 16:52

Oh my collarbone is divine.

From there on down it just gets more tragic...

MillyR · 30/01/2010 16:53

I am tall with large breasts, so a demure, just above the knee tunic scooped to show the lacy vest becomes a low cut mini dress on me. I have to wear non-lacy vests and leggings with them to stop it becoming indecent.

EdgarAllenSnow · 30/01/2010 16:55

i really liked one of last years skirts bt didn't buy because 1) it was £35 even in the sale 2) when i saw it in the shop, though i liked the swishy cut, the material was thin and i knew would not last the maraudings of my dog/children/husband...

i think all the colours they use are just one or two shades too muted for me to really want to wear them.

white stuff is intended for people who want to be cool, but aren't thin enough to wear e.g Bench.

and i saw button necklaces years ago beng sold by artistes - though i agree they now seem to be a universal thing.

a dear friend who is a infant school teacher loves White stuf, so i think whoever it was that said WS woman is a teacher was right on the money. She is norkilicious though not wide of hip - a shape that i believe their tailoring favours.

EdgarAllenSnow · 30/01/2010 16:57

notes collarbone is invisible

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 30/01/2010 16:57

I have to wear another vest under my lacy vest, my norks are mine, not for public display since breast feeding my son 10 years ago. I did buy a tunic, it was supposto be a tunic but looks more like a very cheap dress, cheap in cost but so short I dare not bend over, like my norks, my knickers also belond to me, these have never been on public display.

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 16:57

Yep, bigs tits/no hips is White Stuff Woman.

I am the opposite.

Which is why I am mostly Shite Stuff Woman.

crankytwanky · 30/01/2010 17:08

I am 30 this year, so have just started my morphing into WS woman.
It's a rite of passage, y'know.

It goes Top Shop, Fat Face, White Stuff, Boden, Laura Ashley, M&S.

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 30/01/2010 17:12

What about Miss Selfridge?

I buy the odd thing out of all of these, not a good sign.

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 17:12

I did that backwards!

Honestly - dressed like a fecking granny in my twenties.

Slot Monsoon in between Laura Ashley and Boden, and that's the story of my fashion life.

GeorginaWorsley · 30/01/2010 17:38

I like some White Stuff,just like I like some Boden,some Topshop,some Marks and Spencers,Some Kew,etc etc...
And I am definitely not a teacher.

dexter73 · 30/01/2010 18:03

My friend always drags me around WS as she loves their clothes but it is so mumsy 45+ stuff and I am too young for it !
I can't stand the knee length patterned A-line skirts especially.

MillyR · 30/01/2010 18:36

I though White Stuff was more aimed at the 35-45 age group? Where do people from 35-45 shop? If I wait until I'm 45 to go in White Stuff/Jigsaw/Kew type shops, I'll probably be a grandmother rather than mumsy!

onlyjoinedforoffers · 30/01/2010 18:55

never bought anything from White stuff but have a vast collection of Boden coats and have bought some stuff from Ness only discovered it lst week on here it is beautiful

HarlotOTara · 30/01/2010 19:05

Well I'm sitting here wearing a White Stuff skirt and necklace (other clothes too). I get 50% off their clothes so think they are very reasonable - would never pay full price tho'!

champagnesupernova · 30/01/2010 19:06

Hey harlot - how come you get such a good discount?

champagnesupernova · 30/01/2010 19:07

Did you see the mary queen of shops review of whitestuff Joanie?
(Actually think you are a times gal)
Wonder if I can find?

champagnesupernova · 30/01/2010 19:09
