Jeggings / shoe advice, s'il-vous-plait

I'm a total jeggings convert and have been wearing them all winter with knee length boots.

Actually, I've been wearing everything with knee length boots and I'm sick to death of them.

What else (if anything) can I have on my feet with jeggings / leggings?

And any other pointers about what, other than boots, should be in my shoe-wardrobe?

er... my teenage nieces wear them with uggs or those very flat ballet pumps. can't bear to wear anything without at least 1in of bouncy sole myself (who are these people who can???) so i'm going to get some converse (or the eco-version ethletics!). not that i can wear jeggings - mine are more like very very skinny thick jeans!

DecorHate · 29/01/2010 10:35

I am also sick of wearing my boots. The only other footwear I have worn with my jeggings are ballet pumps (and then only for parties, etc, not tramping through the rain and mud).

My Converse look fine with skinny jeans but am not convinced they would be ok with jeggings...but haven't tried yet

CMOTdibbler · 29/01/2010 10:45

I like my converse boots with jeggings, particularly if the top I am wearing is longer/bulkier

I need the height due to stocky irish dancing legs so am thinking of some shoe-boots for mine once the weather warms up. Medium chunky heel. In the summer, I think I will ditch the jeggings until it's colder. I just don't have the legs to do skinnys and pumps.

monkeysmama · 29/01/2010 12:32

I think this is a danger zone. If the jeggings are long enough to have some ruffle at the bottom I think ballet flats are ok but not sure they're supposed to be worn with anything other than long boots?

I'll watch with interest though and am happy to be convinced otherwise as MN converted me and I own many pairs now.

misshardbroom · 29/01/2010 14:49

yes, I think I am possibly straying into a danger zone. There's no ruffle at the end of my leggings, I don't think they make leggings long enough to ruffle at the bottom of my legs. And I don't say that in a good way.

OK, so if the jeggings have to be restricted to boots, what are other good lower clothing / footwear combos?

the only thing I wear jeggings with apart from boots are heels on a night out. For daytime I'm scared of my legs looking like icing bags without something a bit heftier at the bottom. But they look ok with flatties, imo, I just need a bit of heel as well. (I don't wear blue denim jeggings though, only black jeans-looking or normal ruffly-bottomed thicker leggings)

itchyandscratchy · 29/01/2010 14:54

(btw I have jeggings from new look and h&m that both have 'built-in' ruffles at the bottom)

Just asked this question on another thread!
Did wear shorter leggings last summer under dresses with ballet shoes.
I think that some ruffling around the ankle may be crucial in longer length ones,to save a golf club effect!
